“Birth of Ultra”

Chapter 1:  New Tactics , pt. 3 of 3

Incredibly dumbstruck now, Aurora started to babble, “who-where, ugh-h-h.”  The child just clapped her hands, applauding him.  “Wow, that was so neat!  Do it again!  Do it again!”  The madman just sighed with frustration.  “Are my words being wasted on you two?”  Suddenly he glared at them, pointing at both of them.  “Renounce your status as Warrior and Wizard, and live peacefully among the populace… wearing only an apron for your loving husband.”

Aurora sobered with anger.  “No way!  That’s totally disgraceful!  I would never turn my back on becoming a great Warrior!  Stop insulting me!”  The madman shot back.  “I do not even know why I even decided to save your two wimpy hides in the first place!  I should have just left you there to be butchered like sardines.”  Aurora felt a really cold chill pass through her body.  Not to be undone, she replied.  “Why didn’t you?  What stopped you?  Huh, what’s the matter, c’mon?  Tell me?!”  Aurora started witnessing his face go bleak from her continuous asking.  “I do-n-’t know.”  He said reluctantly

Aurora’s peeved attitude changed when she saw many objects in the sky take shape, falling at a high rate of speed.  Shocked fear entered into her as she noticed they were the Warriors who had tried to attack them.  Agonizing screams pierced the air as they fell to their doom.

Crashing into buildings and other horrible landings, armor flung ligaments of severed limbs.  The fall alone was enough to kill them as their bodies were slung beneath the ground; the stoic Warriors bodies became that of liquid.  Blood spewed everywhere, coursing the streets with its new color.  Aurora and Destiny just looked at Nexious… Raw fear gripped them.

In true horror, their savior regarded them without emotion.  “Do as you please.  Go save your king if that is what you want.  It’s irrelevant that you involve me.”  Nexious started walking away from them… and stopped a few paces.  “I could care less of your fates.  It is inevitable you both will die if go to that castle.  I will not save you this time.”  With that said, he ventured on out of site.

Aurora slumped to the ground crying, overwhelmed on their current events.  Destiny just stood there stooping, sadness on her face.  Ten seconds later, Aurora got up and shook her hand.  At that point, the Warrior girl faced the direction of the castle.  “Let’s go and save your king.”

Aurora’s mind was made up.  She forged a new destiny that would rock the heavens.

Nexious sighed, out of site from anyone. “I am being too nice to them. I should break that useless habit…” He shook his head. “Something tells me they are not up to par with the situation. A one hundred percent chance of death awaits them.” Still walking, his anger grew with more malice. “Nothing will come of their stupid charade. My efforts of saving them earlier seem to have been in vain. For nothing! Why can I not get them out of my mind! Everyone dies at certain point in time! They are no exception.” Breathing a couple of quick breaths, he relaxed in a revelational manner. “It seems I can never escape my past.” With that, his right arm bubbled like that of boiling water, taking shape of that of a different form. His arm now was laced with monstrous scales, at the hand stood sharp talons holding a mystical egg. He then, with ease, tore off his right arm at the shoulder socket. Wincing no pain at all, he held it up and imbued handles on it; the staff was made complete with no trouble.

Arriving, the pair met with a few Warrior friends of Aurora’s. Upon seeing them from the side of the gate the friendly Warrior guards halted them with surprise in their voices. Soren was the first to speak after they halted the duo. “ Aurora, what’s going on?! Why are you with that wizard?!” Vitas shouted next. “Did you team up with the wizards?! Are you in league with them now?!”

Aurora knew this moment would eventually happen, but… did it have to happen so soon. Fighting her dear friends seemed to be more than she could bear. Aurora winced at her new trauma with grief of that of a sulking head. Aurora didn’t answer. Destiny looked at Aurora with a little pain in her face, feeling sorry for her. Finally, Aurora spoke up, revealing her true intentions to her shocked friends. “Please leave, I don’t want to fight you.”

Through clear shock-ness, one of them replied. “You dare to switch sides and tell us to neglect our duties! How disgusting you have sunk so far! You should be burned at the stake as for being such a foolish traitor!”

Pain ripped upon Aurora’s face, feeling incredibly guilty. Vitas still in shock, stepped forward a few paces. “Tell me that’s not the case! You’re not a traitor! I want you to tell me that you’re not siding against us!” Aurora raised her head, feeling for her friend. “I can’t explain why I’m doing this… but I have to do this. I’m not a traitor. I just need to sort things out. Please don’t stand against me.” Hearing the truth; Vitas couldn’t believe what she was hearing from her dear childhood friend. She spoke out her rage. “How could this happen? We hardly get here on the first mission… and you turn…”

Soren had a disappointed look on his face as he stepped forward. “It is clear she never was our friend. She is just as wicked as those Wizards. Nobody turns their back on a fellow Warrior and lives to tell about it. Apparently, she has forgotten the justice we are avenging. A type of Myistic like that has no morals. Clearly she is our enemy, a Wizard.”

Destiny got in front of Aurora, shouting with angrily pep. “You have no right to speak that way to my new friend! She still cares for you!” One of the Warriors responded to his fellows. “Just follow the number one rule and turn a deaf ear to the enemy. Okay?!” They all nodded with approval. Destiny asked in confusion to Aurora. “What are they saying?” Aurora vigorously drew her sword to the new hostility with unbridled determination. “It means we have to fight them.” She continued to speak while nodding to Destiny. “Please, don’t kill any of them if you get the chance.” Destiny felt uncertain, but she smiled. “I will try.”

Soren in front, rushed Destiny, spear in both hands. Aurora pulled in on ahead and blocked the spear with her sword. “Give me a hand, will ya?!” Aurora asked in the heat of battle. Confused on what she meant, Destiny did the best she could to resemble what her comrade wanted.

Reaching into the universe for anything and everything, Destiny tried to pry the element that she needed. Usually, since she was just beginning to use magic of the old arts, before, it was extremely hard to tap into the elements without hurting herself. With erratic ease, Destiny pulled flames from her hand, shooting toward her foes. Fiery pulses of convulsing heat slammed into the rest of the rushing Warriors, knocking some of them down. Warriors, whom downloaded a protective fire shield, swept forward still; their intent was slaying the annoying Wizard.

Destiny felt some anxiety as she pulled her might into her staff, bringing some of its strength forward. She released a fire aura around herself while positioning the staff in front of her. The Warriors smacked into the aura, creating lots of friction that stopped them in their tracks. Writhing with sudden chronic pain from the huge burns the fiery aura emitted, other remaining Warriors still attacking were flung in the air, sending them all in different directions. The alarmed Warriors were slammed into obstacles with great speed.

In amazement, both Aurora and Soren turned to Destiny. Soren then turned his attention to Aurora by stepping back, producing a chance at a long horizontal slash with his spear. Aurora easily parried it and punched Soren with her left hand, and followed up by a cyclone kick in the face, pushing the old friend back in a seizure. Next, Aurora quickly bunted Soren in his right-side frame with her sword, sending him colliding to a nearby wall, rendering him unconscious.

Vitas took up guard in front of the gate, her expression that of distress. Destiny prepared a spell, but Aurora waved a statement. “I’ll deal with her.” Destiny backed off as Aurora stepped across from Vitas. With a heavy heart, Aurora said good-bye to her old friends. “I’m sorry.” Vitas regarded her coldly. “So am I.”

Moving into action, Vitas downloaded a freezing mixture, sending it forth to Aurora’s feet. Aurora quickly downloaded an anti-ice barrier and jumped in the air overhead Vitas while flipping her feet straight into the sky. Face, facing Vitas, Aurora downloaded a barrage of mediocre ice particles toward her opponent. Vitas met each particle by downloading the same spell, intercepting the harmful spray. Landing with feet on the ground, six yards behind Vitas, Aurora turned around to face the anxious Vitas, whom already faced her. Vitas continued her barrage of ice. Aurora managed a quick download and sent it on her sword, mystifying it with icy sharp temperatures. The heroine rushed into the barrage with her sword, feeling her anti-ice barrier dissipate. Vitas prepared her sword as Aurora came close, striking forward with a thrust. With no trouble at all, Aurora avoided it by spinning to the side of Vitas’ blade and followed up with a mighty kick that sent Vitas spiraling to the side of the gate. Vitas… looked up in her down position toward Aurora. Aurora pointed her weapon at her. “Please, don’t stop me. I have to do this. Nothing will deter me.”

Vitas started crying, her face pointed to the ground. She resigned to let her friend go. Aurora pitied her friend. “I’m sorry.” She repeated… Motioning with her hand for Destiny to follow her, Destiny appeared to be confused and pointed to herself. Aurora just regarded her without getting angry. “Come on! Let’s go!”

Destiny ran forth to meet her comrade and stared at Vitas, a sincere look in on her face. Aurora just ignored her. “Let’s go. We have to save the king.” Both of them took off in a rush, toward the entrance of the castle, only to be met with more resistance. The duo prepared themselves yet again for combat.

After the battle was fought and won, Destiny made a wonderful comment. “Fughhhh, I never thought I would fight like this someday!” Aurora took a nibble on her comment. “What do mean? You’re pretty good at handling magic.” Destiny turned her attention to Aurora with glee. “Before, when I was practicing magic with my mother, I would mess up on most of the firework spells, the lowest of low magic! Now all it takes is a single thought and I can wield more magic’s than I have ever seen! This staff is pretty handy!” Aurora dropped her jaw, coming to a slow start.

“Huh… huh… huh... What do you mean by THAT?! I thought you were a pro at magic! Don’t tell me the staff has been helping you this whole time!? Aurora exclaimed with renowned fear. Destiny just giggled. “Somehow the staff tells me what to use. And the best part is! What I have been casting, seem to be really easy! I am so glad I found this staff! I shall never part with it!”

Aurora took in every bit of information as she could muster, quivering her jaw. No way can such a staff exist, even in any part of the universe! NO ONE would ever part with it and leave a powerful artifact behind! Not even by grasping it till death, even then! The weird part was that, by any chance, a billion to one, they happened to come across it by coming to the side wall of the gate! NO WAY!

Destiny interrupted Aurora’s thinking process by frolicking over to her and exclaimed. “Come on! Head this way!” In a joyous manner, Destiny pointed to the entrance.

The duo fought their way to the throne room meeting little resistance. Opening the throne room door, both of them saw five figures in the moderate area. Romainiko, the squad captain and another Warrior were conversing with each other by the throne chairs. The third Warrior was guarding the tied up king and queen on the side of the thrones.

Romainiko wore the same “AGE” suit he had before. On his back, was equipped with a visible great sword. Highly colored dark-blue hair whipped around; Romainiko turned his attention to the intrusion, exclaiming. “What is the meaning of this?! I’m busy right now!” Romainiko suddenly shot his eyes to the red robed girl whom was in attack stance. Destiny quipped. “Let the king and queen go!” Romainiko shifted his attention to Aurora with irritation. “Didn’t I tell you all to kill all the Wizards in the city and not to detain them? Why is THIS Wizard not dead or either detained in my presence?!” Aurora ignored his order by raising her sword at him.

Unamused, Romainiko was starting to get the picture. “How folly of you, the daughter of the great Haust, to become a servant of any Wizard. Did you beg for your life like a whimpering coward? Or did you deliberately join up with one by being a miscreant whom so easily sullies the name, ‘Warrior‘? Be that as it may, you have made your final foolish mistake by challenging me. A dark hollow grave meets your arrival this very day. Prepare to die!” At that, Romainiko motioned the Warrior beside him to attack the duo.

The other third Warrior still stood guard over the confused royalties, as he was supposed to do. A Warrior drew near half-way across the room. Aurora quickly parried his strike and shortly sparred with him before knocking him with her blade to the side of the throne room wall with a huge smack.

Romainiko commented before leaving his spot with haste. “How unfortunate for you that I’m your opponent now. May you die a very horrible death before me.” Sensing immediate danger, Destiny called out to her partner. “Move to the side, so I can attack!” Aurora acknowledged, while Destiny delved into the staff to initiate a powerful ball of flame. The huge ball of flame, the size of a regular door, hurled toward Romainiko. He in turn, jumped over it and counterattacked with a download of his own, emitting the same size fireball at Destiny.

Destiny’s fireball vanished into mystical light before hitting the throne chairs. Unleashing a fire aura, Destiny braced for impact as the magical flames cackled around her. The fireball pounded into the aura, diminished not before knocking the wizard back to the ground. Romainiko closed in toward the laying Wizard by bringing out his great sword. Intercepting him, Aurora parried his downward strike from the left side. Sweat dripped down her face as she struggled to maintain his greater strength. Romainiko turned toward to her while his two-handed sword was still on her sword. He chuckled. “Now you see the error you’ve made, but it is too late for you.” Aurora knew she couldn’t release her fighting stance lest she be bested easily in combat. Things looked pretty grim for the duo, Aurora grunted as she was brought to one knee, still trying to ward off the experienced leader. “This is the end for you!” Romainiko snarled.

Suddenly, Aurora’s blade began to mystify. The blade began shimmering a sparkling crystal-like radiance. Aurora felt renewed strength as she pushed off the ground with a heavy force. Romainiko bounced back a few feet in alarm, snarling. “What just happened?! Who are you?!” Aurora ignored his reaction and chased after him with amazing speed. Romainiko shirked back after every one of her sword swipes, barely parrying each attack.

The renowned captain was in shock, for he felt like he was now fighting a veteran Warrior, he was so close to winning before. Not to be deterred anymore, Romainiko unleashed a powerful counterattack, swinging his mighty blade with swirling diagonal sword swipes in at his opponent. Aurora vanished and appeared behind him and cut him horizontally in half with her shimmering sword. Romainiko’s two body parts fell to the floor as Destiny got to her feet. Destiny appeared to be confused and questioned Aurora. “I thought we were not to kill anyone?” Seeing the horror scene before him, the remaining soldier screamed in fear as he hightailed it out there.

Aurora dropped her weapon, coming to realize what she just did. The blade lost its shimmering color when it hit the floor. Aurora turned away from the dead body with both hands on her face. “What have I done? None of this was supposed to happen. What possessed me to kill him?” Hearing this, Destiny stood silent, not knowing what to say. She regained herself a moment later and hurried past Aurora, to the king and queen.

Destiny untied them. The king of Sisyphean thanked the two girls. The queen also was most happy. Angry with herself but not deterred, Aurora motioned the three to leave the castle. Two veteran warriors stood at the entrance the throne room entrance, blocking the exit.

Vinos glared around the throne room spotting the entire situation, his eyes remained on Romainiko’s dead body. Sincere ire in his voice, it commanded great respect. “So, you have decided to play for keeps now. Your traitorous acts can not ever be unhindered. Pity… you were once a sweet child. Oh so young to be cut down before their prime.” Aurora stepped back to the group as she readied her sword at Vinos and Hare.

Propping his huge cannon in front of him, Vinos spoke with delightful mirth. “Don’t think for once you have a chance against me. My strength is ten times over… than the city captain, a poor excuse for a victory. My power alone exceeds any obstacle. Prepare for your immediate demise!” At that he downloaded demi; the death of Aurora and Destiny was very much assured.

Demi, A powerful binding ‘Time’ spell, locks all opponents in its swirling purple-black haze along with the spell caster. The spell forms around the battlefield in a circle in a three-dimensional field depicting a cabochon (half circle). Demi allows the spell caster to choose who gets the bonus effects inside said demi, the bonus grants a binding aura that lets the said Myistic become twice as strong and also cuts the effect of damage from the elements in half. Other powerful tricks also could be wielded in demi. No Myistic has yet to escape demi in over one hundred thousand years, unless they defeat the spell caster him/herself.

The group braced themselves as the awesome spell concealed around them. True horror was in all their eyes as Vinos and Hare emitted a velvet glow to them. Doom was placed around Aurora’s thoughts as she stood before the great might of the two other duo, Destiny could not be swayed for her ignorance was bliss. Calling for all the strength in her staff, she evoked a third level spell at Vinos.

A huge chaotic magma ball, a two-story house length, came forth from the staff and burst toward the veterans with incredible searing hot flame. Hare with his sword-axe, sliced downward on the magma ball and it easily evaporated the split two halves of the powerful spell. Vinos smirked, and Hare appeared to be bored as he readied his sword-axe to attack the group. Destiny slumped to her knees as she began to breath heavy, repetitiously. “I do… not feel… like I can go on… much longer. S-o tired.” Aurora went over to comfort her. “Hang in there. Don’t lose hope.” Vinos cackled an overbearing laugh. “Hope is for weaklings… Like you for instance!” Vinos quickly sobered with much malice. “Your little charade ends here! Say your prayers before I end your mediocre existence!!”

With a great crackling sound, the throne room wall collapsed on the side of the throne room chairs. Nexious appeared before them… Before everyone could see what was going on, still in mid-air, he punched the demi barrier with his shimmering crystal-like right hand. The surrounding demi vanished from wince it came as Nexious landed between Hare and the group. He pointed toward Aurora and the others without taking his eyes off Hare. “Leave. I have provided means of your escape through that broken wall. Go now.”

So many emotions were coursing through Aurora right now that she protested. “But I thought…” The madman shouted at her with fiery rage. “Just go you b###h! Do not distract me! I will handle them at this point!” Holding his palm to the group, they all vanished in thin air, leaving behind a starry, twinkling glimmer.

Seeing what was already apparent, Vinos commented. “So, you’re the master Wizard guarding this city I see. You do realize you’ve made a horrible mistake in challenging two veteran Warriors. You ARE going to pay for locking us in that basement for half an hour!” With a little irritation, the unknown Wizard remarked. “Just shut up and fight. You can start prancing around in joy after you beat me. Not before.”

Hare regarded his opponent to have wisdom and took heed of that. He quickly drew upon the unknown Wizard with an upward diagonal slice. Nexious countered by bringing his walking cane from his cloak and magically formed it into a long double-edge blade staff. He managed to block with the staff in one hand.

Heavy sparks flew from the blades colliding and both remained in standstill, Hare grinted his teeth for very first time in combat as the two blades scraped out, repeating sparks. Vinos took action by going to the side of them from a far distance and prepared his mega cannon on the two-landing poles. With convulsing magnetic energy forming at the muzzle (tip) of the cannon, it was released with a mighty roar, shocking the ground around them. The powerful blast came at the Wizard with enormous speed. Thinking quickly, Nexious slipped out a white cloth from his pocket with his right hand and transformed it into a rectangle steel wall covering his entire side. The blast met the shield with a great explosion while Hare quickly backed away…

…The wall didn’t even budge or knock the Wizard anywhere fore he was still in place. Next, Nexious took advantage of Vinos’ surprise by magically bringing the bottom edge of the wall to his right hand and pushed it toward Vinos with greater speed than the blast that Vinos unleashed. The other top edge of the wall… smashed into the muzzle of the cannon and through it, creating a great explosion. Vinos managed to get out way before it hit him; anger shot through him as he watched his cannon become torn in half. The general immediately scampered to collect his poles to reequip himself with his two double bladed swords.

Nexious spun his staff in a typhoon and sent it spiraling at Hare. Hare dodged and swung his sword-axe at the red caped Wizard. Jumping over the horizontal slash he then rocketed to the ground like a hawk… short of being missed by Hare’s second attempt with an upward crescent slash in the air. The madman on the ground quickly somersaulted away from Vinos’ downward slash while turning about and torpedoed in the air at a 45 angle away from his opponents.

Vinos downloaded a lot of lightning bolts, sending a barrage of them toward Nexious. The madman smirked as he waved his hand in front of him. Glittering flashing light emitted each lightning bolt into harmless flapping birds. Vinos was really peeved now, he jumped after the Wizard. The madman caught his spiraling weapon and met Vinos’ attack with many quick parries. Gravity took hold of Vinos as he leapt back down close to where Hare was standing, meanwhile Nexious just hovered in mid-air. The madman gave the duo a crazy gleam. “You can not beat me.” With that, the strange Wizard waved his hand at the debris sparks left behind. Living flame burst from the many sparks and flowed together to make a great fireball. The fireball careened toward both Vinos and Hare, both of them quickly headed in opposite directions… as the living flame did not relent but split in two and zeroed in on the duo separately.

While the duo were frantic, Nexious remained calm letting loose another terrible spell; the madman magically split himself in two, forming two of him. In turn, the madmen each took an opponent to attack and followed them while in mid-air, their eyes shot blue consecutive lasers at the incoming veterans. Vinos dodged the lasers and did an upward swoop with one of his weapons toward the madman clone, the clone vanished before he could strike him, with that taken care of, Vinos downloaded a powerful ice cycle and sent toward the living flame that was following him. The flame turned to little shards of ice particles, but the shards came to life and struck Vinos in the air.

Hare, while dodging both obstacles, swung his sword-axe at his torpedo flame. The flame split in two yet again before he could touch it and the flame continued its pursuit. Hare then downloaded demi, clouding the battlefield with its purplish haze. The flame vanished as the two clones appeared before them at ground level. The duo charged them with ready anticipation, with the same weapon in hand, the clones quickly evaded each strike and swings made by the veteran Warriors.

Very frustrated, Hare called out “haste” on himself and Vinos; with double their speed, they seemed flawless. But to their dismay, the clones still evaded them. Magical tiny balls formed on the floor and brought the Warriors scampering to catch their footing while the clones remained untouched. At that point, Hare had enough games being played on him; he downloaded a very powerful spell that any would bring anyone to their knees. “Time capsule!!”

Dark-red clouds corroded the battlefield and struck each “ball” on the ground, evaporating them… Soon it was time the clones were evaporated by the intense darkness. Vinos let out a whoop of joy. “Sucker! In the end, you were no match for us!”

A cackle sounded behind them, outside the demi field. Nexious stood beside the broken down wall. “You got them, alright! But you missed me! Who beat who?!” Vinos couldn’t believe what he seeing as his jaw dropped open, he was in total shock. Hare just glared at the powerful Wizard. Giving another final cackle, the madman spoke with amusement. “You fools never had a chance. With that… I leave you.” Nexious turned to go. Hare recalled his demi field and both of them attempted to strike at their fleeing opponent. “Don’t let the Wizard escape!” Vinos shouted.

With great enormous ire, Nexious turned toward the duo with a fixation to end their impudence. Without raising a single muscle, the powerful wizard put his will into his special type of magic and forced it into his two opponents. Caught within the spell, Vinos and Hare struggled to break free… but, instead were flung in the air toward the front of the entrance of the castle, like rag dolls. Both of them, seeming to be possessed… Careened and smashed into each solid wall as if they were not even an obstacle. Finally reaching the final wall of the castle, they were shot through and hurled into the city with a grand finale crash.

The mad Wizard teleported out of site from the castle.

   "...I love you."

"Why say that?  Are you referring to me... or...?"

"You can really throw away a mood, you know that"

"I don't know what you mean by that... but you are referring to ME."

"Get a clue, yes, YOU.  I love you."

"Stop saying that, you don't mean it.  Love is between family members."

   "WHAT...!?"

"You know... People you care about."

"Heh heh, that's what I love about you, you're so funny."

"I do not get it, but... if you say so, umm... Your issue is still impossible."

   "What issue?"

"You love Oregani, he's crazy about you.  He would definitely take care of you."

"Oh, that.  You know what, you're an airhead, ya know."

"Excuse me, he's rich, handsome, a prince, he has tons of connections, you'll never want for nothing.  And..."

"No wonder the girls never pay attention to you, you're too negative.  Keep this up and every female on Gallance will turn you down... Even the children."  She giggled.

He gasped, hurt.  "...It's just... That I... Statistics..."  He whispered suddenly.  "...I'm just a loser."
