What is a ReCon ?
A mini two hour convention usually between 6-8pm (times may vary) happening in a local bookshop , comic book store or library near you !
During the evening you will get the chance to take part in a quiz so brush up on your manga knowledge ( or have a guess its multiple choice )
Strutt your stuff in the cosplay competition and show us how much you love anime and manga in your town !
Calling all manga-ka , bring along your artwork and enter the art competition , this is sponsored by Stabilo one of our ReCon partners and the winners receive a selection of their great art products.
We will tell you all about the latest and greatest titles coming in the next few months .
Even if you don't win any of the competitions , there will be a prize draw and freebies for everybody.
Free Snacks as well if the venue allows (how much Pocky can one person eat in two hours : please note there is no prize for this 
)
Gaming in the form of Nintendo are also be a part of the evening as well so come along and hear about their new products that might appeal to you as a anime and manga fan or try your hand on a Wii or DS for free.
Sounds great where are they ? See below , please ring or visit venue before event as some venues will be ticketed due to limited space and may have sold out ( we wouldn't want you to have travelled for an hour to find its sold out , not with the price of fuel these days )

Ohh, i see from the email I got theres going to be one in ballymena in october, yay! Was wondering do you HAVE to cosplay to get in or can you come in normal clothes? Never been to one of these so i was just wondering. ^^

Okay, so with the art competition, you need to bring your own art, it should be slightly manga themed (manga, anime, video game) doesn't have to be colour, can be sketches, whatever! And I just want to shout out to everyone at Southampton, you guys are always great, especially the guys that helped out in Borders! The guys that work there have lots of photos, so ask them in store if you wanna see anything from Southampton on Thursday!

Got two tickets for Manchester Arndale, but I was wondering, do you have to tll someone beforehand if you want to enter the art competition? And what kind of art should it be? Manga, illustration, what?! :) Gonna be a great evening though.
