1st person makes you believe you are that person. It allows you to become completely into the story, as Kernaghan says.

with 3rd person, character details are usually given away to quickly where as in 1st person it emerses you more in the story.

personally i think 1st person is more fun to read, but most of what i read is written in 3rd.
