today, I had basketball practice. All was going well, until when our team and the coah began arguing with our coach about the proper way to line up for a foul shot. I told dher that we had lined up in a specific way for the North American Indigineous (sorry, don't think I spelled that correctly...) Games, and anyway, the coach's daughter calls, well, yells in such a mocking voice something that I found offensive being cree about the NAIG (north American Indigineous Games) I felt completely offended as an aborinal and a basketball player! Later, I went to the coah and told her that I had been offended by her daughter's comment. But the coach just yelled at me saying that she didnt hear her daughter say anything, and when I told her that I had clearly heard her daughter she just repeated that she hadn't heard anything, even though it was very unlikey that she didn't, being that her daughter yelled it, and we were in a small gym, and that I also have a friend and five others who heard it. I simply walked out. Telling my coach that I needed to rest for a moment, I grabbed a quarter and used a pay phone by our front door and called my mom and told her about what haad just occured. My mom wanted to talk to the coach about it. but by the time practice was over, it was too late because the coach had fled. the only reason because she was coaching us was because she wanted to look good as a coach... And that kinda deflates my image of what a real coach should be like. So any of you who are aspiriring to be a coach in any sport, please save your players by never beging like my coach, who will continue to lose teams because of the ways she acts. I want to be a coach, and I have vowed that I will never end up like this coach. ^_^ Hailey
