Hiroki Otsuka, artist of the TOKYOPOP manga Boys of Summer, and Yoko Ono are two of the 33 Japanese artists featured in the upcoming exhibit, Making a Home: Japanese Contemporary Artists in New York. The exhibit launches tomorrow with a special opening at the Japan Society in New York City.
The show, which runs until January 13, 2008, celebrates the historic and cultural links between Japan and New York. The large-scale group exhibition features a range of media, including sculpture, painting, and video, by a diverse group of Japanese artists living in New York.
Boys of Summer features the high jinks of Bud Waterson, a new college student in search of fun with his school’s female student body.
