Doctor Who is the long running British Scifi series about an alien (who calls himself The Doctor) who travels to other planets and times and setting things right that go wrong. He comes from the now deceased planet of Gallifrey and is a Time Lord.
This symbol is the Time Lords is this.

That symbol is on the coin of Jareth's sickle pendant in Labyrinth. Just turn it on it's side.

Also in the Doctor Who spin off series Torchwood (about a Men in black type society lead by an immortal named Jack Harkness) there is an episode called Little Worlds in which some faeries kidnap a human girl to become one of them. In the episode the hero, the immortal captain Jack Harkness announces that he feels all faeries are bad (and they're real). And the episode repeatedly quotes the William Yeats poem, The Stolen Child.
The plot of Labyrinth, of course, is about The Goblin King stealing a human child to be his heir and the boy's sister has to save him.
I just thought these similarities were very odd and very striking.
Also David Bowie's song Starman played in the Torchwood episode Random Shoes. David Bowie was Jareth in Labyrinth.
And the man who plays the villian, The Master, stars on the show Life on Mars, named after another David Bowie song.
