I went to Rejects on Friday, i had wanted to go back to Edinburgh to Mandor's, yet time was againtst me unfortunately. I would have liked to gone back to get some extremely gorgeous blue rose print material that was on a white base *.* I planned to create yet another version of Non-chan's highwaisted skirt with it, as well as buy some more brushed cotton to make the Mam nightbonnet. But, oh well, i guess i'll have to wait until Wednesday ^_^;
So, as i stated previously i went to Rejects, and whilst there i saw that they have started to stock some half decent rose print materials. There was one with soft pink roses all over it, highlighted with a creamy white to look like soft sunlight, and after looking close enough one realises the base colour is sax blue ^___^ So even though it is all pink roses that are probably 3cms(? I mislaid the measuring tape, so i'm guessing) in diameter, it still has a hint of my favourite colour, so i can wear my sax blue Babyssb bow-combs with it.
I also purchased a creamy antique lace, and matching zipper as well as thread for it. And although that colour is considered somewhat classic, somehow the pastel print keeps it sweet style. Either you could say its sweet classic, or possibly a version of country sweet style? Whichever it is, regardless of cream or antique shades, i shall still wear it with a white blouse, drawers, and shoes, though my "off white" Babyssb cardigan actually looks more like a creamy antique, lol. I once saw a coordinate on Babyssb's website that showed all white worn with an antique colour babydoll jumperskirt ^_^ So seeing as the material reminds me of Angelic Pretty, as well as Babyssb, then i shall try that too. I purchased the material on a whim(as it was too lovely not too), and i'm being a "webel", so rather than bankrupting myself buying antique shade drawers & a blouse(though i do have some creamy white tights) I shall just stick with what i already have! And i don't care if i meet any "Lolitists" in the future that pick me apart for mixing white & creamy antique lace, their issue no mine ^__^; Actually now i think of it, i believe my Meta' ToyBox print coat looks very classical as well as sweet, as its "off white" looks more antique coloured, so it should be work good with the skirt & that, in theory
Anyways, i still have keyhooks and three decorative buttons(roses?) to get, as Rejects had awfully boring buttons & the keyhooks were completely out of stock in the shape i required ;__; Yet, next Wednesday, Edinburgh, i'll hopefully pop into John Lewis, Jenners, and Mandor's to see if they have what i require for finishing the skirt ^_^.
Oh, did i also say i'm going to make a Butterick pattern nightgown too, i got some lovely floral brushed cotton on wednesday at Mandor's. And, i have so much left over white cotton lace from when i made the Angelic Pretty onepiece. I plan to make the Mam nightbonnet to match the nightdress, I think in the end i shall look like a psuedo victorian maiden, lol. The nightgown has a "peter pan" collar, loose sleeves like a lolita blouse, and is floor length, actually when i consider it, it just looks like a nightgown version of a lolita smock blouse! I also plan to eventually make(in the same brushed cotton, yet torsion/cluny instead of cotton lace) the "H.jelly & honey" babydoll camisole & drawers as both summer nightwear, and to wear under the nightgown with the Mam bonnet when its freezing.
Anyways, i also have left over hashigo cotton lace for the night bonnet, i plan to omit the scalloped lace(might be bad to sleep on anyways, and theres nothing good enough in the shops), and just use left over cotton frill lace in the broachpin bow.
Also, i have that tote bag from the Gothic & Lolita Extra Bible vol.2 still to finish, the one Maki shows how to make on an overlocker. Though hers is a Babylock machine, "Wavelock" thing, that kind of waves & ruffles the material as it stitches, yet mine is a basic Janome "New Home" thus no Wavelocking for me, lol. I'm making it in the blue twill(same as the Angelic Pretty dress), and skipping the felt appliques too, I looked in Rejects & Dunelm, and the felt-stuff was either too thin or the colours too dark. So, maybe i should leave the tote bag a while? Maybe practise some embroidery instead? Then maybe i could embroider a simple wee design on the totes front pocket instead? It may be more of a fun challenge if i do that instead ^__^
I have so much to make, and so much i wish to make, i have two Gothic & lolita Bibles on their way, as well as GosuRori vol.7! I plan to make the Angelic Pretty Sailor Dress and matching headbow *.* And there are about 5 jumperskirts & one skirt in GosuRori vol.7 i might make too if i find material to suit the patterns, then theres the spare collar from GosuRori vol.6 to make for my Moite smockblouse ^_^; Plus in a certain amount of unknown time(weeks, maybe months), my Sakuya(Lati Redline M, 63cm BJD) will eventuallly be getting home, and i plan to sewn wee nightshirts for him, and half trousers & capes, and maybe a more ouji-sama like "blouse" ^__^ I'm going to be extremely busy, and i wouldn't be surprised if, at the end of all the sewing projects, i might have more handmade than premade brand items.
I'm hoping it doesn't take me ages to make them, yet i hope i don't end up making them hastily throughout a day & night, i never get the pace good, either i hesitate or rush. I rushed the first of Non-chan's highwaisted skirts i made(it was in black twill), then months later, once i got proper strong thread for gathering, and had my overlocker i eventually fine tuned the skirt. then i hesitated for nearly a year for the Angelic Pretty onepiece, though at least i was ready for christmas day. The zippers on both still looks mildly messy, yet i'm learning, and have learnt the theory behind putting them in right(leave 2cm seam allowance to overlap the zipper?). So hopefully, on my third version of the skirt, i'll have finally learnt all the little tricks to make it look proffesional ^__^
i have day of sewing a nightgown ahead of me,(i might type tomorrow to say how its going ^_^) so,
ja, mata ashita.
