What's the Scoop? 9/2/07

Happy Labor Day Weekend!, to all the American TP members. I hope you all enjoyed the last official weekend of the summer. This week you are getting the ’Scoop’ from the road. I am attending a birthday party Sunday and a Picnic for at my friends house.  So far the weather has been beautiful. This week sees my favorite items coming off of their break. I am hoping that you all will enjoy what I have found this week. I have found a great many things here on TP alone. The members have scooped me with the scoops coming from the net.

TO AND FROM OUR SPONSORS

TheMischievousFox has let us know that Adult Content Policy is online! She suggest to check it out to see what TP considers as adult content etc. An answer to a question I had asked on the TP Support Site, TheMischievousFox give me this answer in last weeks ‘Scoop’:

We hope to add more alert customization in the future, alerts for fans birthdays are on this list.

I for one will like the idea. You see, I like to wish my fans happy birthday. Sometimes a few days after their birthday because I wasn’t online the day of the birthday.
TheMischievousFox will be offline for a week. See her blog AFK! for her reason. So, if you have asked any questions that have not been answered, please be patient.

Shy0ne1 has a question for our sponsors. She want to know about the Flags. She is Canadian and would like to display the flag of her country. tollie01 has asked the same question of TheMischievousFox since his country is the Netherlands. Can anyone help them get the right flags?

Marga26 ask us to check out the JOBS AT TOKYOPOP. She give us the link to the job seekers section.

Ok sponsors, I have been around the site a few times and have noticed something strange. See my ending notes to find out what I have found.

BLOGS AROUND TOKYOPOP AND OTHER NEWS

A moral question was posted by Forget when he asks if it is Legal or Illegal to use serial numbers and user names to get into programs. Well, Forget if you are asking the question you already know the answer.

PhoenixfireV has her list for September 2007 TP New Releases and Recommendations. One of those releases is RG Veda vol. 10 – Final Volume. And she gives you how many are being released , how manga are making a debut and so on. Kaychristiananimelover
let’s us know that PJT Wants YOU! To Go To Japan. The tours that they are offering are ‘Cold Steel, ‘Tokyo Darkside’ and ‘Fujoshi Paradise’. There are links and due dates already if you are interested in any of the tours. Kaychristiananimelover gets a scoop from ComiPress,  Time For Massive Manga Mania. This scoop tells us about a large round-up of manga serialization news.  Another scoop by our busy reporter is OBJECTION! To Censorship. This is the continuing saga of the hentai doujishi-ka who was arrested. I could fill up What’s the Scoop?, with Kaychristiananimelover’s blogs. So in lieu of that how about a link to this awesome news gatherer.

Andre continues the scoop on ADV becomes Geneon’s distributors, leading to major changes….. and muses what is going to happen at Geneon. He also wonders if it will have an impact on an already declining market.

Yumikei writes an article about Legal Drug: News. This is for those who are wondering when the next volume will be published. I truly hope that CLAMP will continue the series soon. Have you caught he crossovers to another CLAMP title?

AnotherAnimeConvention is advertising a Magic The Gathering Tournament. This is to pre-register players for AAC. If you are interested please direct questions in this blog.

CLANNING

Imperium has finally given in and added a clan. In the blog My Clan Created, Imperium names the clan, Unleash the Beast. He asks that you com check it out and be free!

If you like to write fan fiction, have I found a clan for you . Hosted by Clan Lord MikeFromIreland this clan for people who like to make up stories about anime/manga, any cartoonor television programs etc.
If this sounds like you then stop in and check out the Fan Fiction Clan.

This is a clan for a cult classic from the 1990’s. It is hosted by Clan Lord MewMewSpyder. According to the rules there are none. If  you like the X Files then check out The X Files Fan Clan.

Do you like noodles? Well, I found a unique clan hosted by Clan Lord Kazluss called OODLES OF NOODLES. This is the place for you if you are a Ramen lover. All are welcome from the instant noodlers to the more traditional ramen stands.

If you haven’t read my news about Pokemon yet, well I suggest that when you do then you will know why selected this. Being hosted by Clan Lord Narutofan1895 there is this first POKEMON CLAN I have seen that may be interesting. Check it out.

TOP TENS

This one gave me a chuckle, random thoughts on my mind. Though Ginkazeryuu, I have to know about number 4. What was the embarrassing thing you did in math???

Have you ever wonder what the best job would be if you had a choice. AliceWonder has her Top 10 Jobs as jobs to have while working her way through college. But AliceWonder, number 10??!!

Gamers do you ever wish you can freeze frame your favorite gave at the best place? LuthLamb sets up a top ten of the Best Freeze game moments (not cp freeze). Do you have any like this?

What are your pet peeves? Here are TohruxYukixKyoLover gives use her top ten pet peeves. Me, I had always thought pet peeves were not only the negative but also the positive. Maybe, I am just old fashioned. And no I don’t fall into peeve number 2.

MorganCheckers give us the Top 10 Signs You Won’t Be Wining RSoM This Year:. And my favorite of this top ten is the number 10 which should be number 1 in my humble opinion.

POLLS

A poll of a different color - meaning it is not about Naruto or Fruits Basket. Lucca asks in her poll, What’s your favorite CLAMP series? She has some if not all of the CLAMP titles listed in one way or another.

Arisa13 asks the question, Who acualy rates the videos and stuff? Answer honestly, please.

MikefromIreland asks the question, What Is Your Favourite Star Wars Movie?.  Do you remember when they were talking about making prequels? Here he has all six episodes.

REVIEWS, VIDEOS, ART AND FICTION

Airichan is back. She gives Arir’s WeeklyTop TP Fiction Pics: 08/31/07. Before giving her top pics, she sets down the rules for her choices. Some of the featured TP aspiring writers are Ginzor, Calamari and NearlyMello. They are the pick of the litter of the writers this week. Check for some of those who are also worth mentioning.

Review extraordinaire tollie01 has set his sights on My Neighbours the Yamadas. He gives this quirky comedy 3 out of 5 stars. He also is asking for someone who owns the anime to give their views on the comedy and jokes. For other reviews on such titles as Gantz, Those Who Hunt Elves, Pom Poko and Origin. They are the titles he has reviewed this week.

OOOO has posted a new video. It is one called Hikari and Kei's suffering. She made the video which features a song by Josh Groban.  ********** SSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHH OOOO,S birthday is 9/2/07. Don’t forget to wish her a happy birthday ************

Blackcross shares her video, FMA - The Military Style! Elephant March... It sounds like a hoot and I will have to check it out after finishing this weeks ‘Scoop’.

Featuring art will seem easier to just keep it all listed here. My criteria for art, it just has to catch my eyes. And here we go. Starting with our favorite priest by AbelNighroad called My Broken Wings.  Ok, I have to confess to be a Pokemon nut! But again the art has to catch my eye and have at least one pokemon in it. That is why I like SSJ10GoGeta and the way cute Ash and Picachu in I got a Book. Ok, another thing you will note about me is that I like anything that points to Jesus. I really like this next piece of art not only does it point to Jesus but the rolling hills are wonderful. From EgotheFreak we are graced with STANDING FIRM ON BELIEFS AND VALUE. I also found another person who shares my passion, KebaSirota. She drew Mew in the Mountains that is pretty darn good.

Here are some photos that I have to share. This is so cute that Ouch just added words to Zee feels hungry and Zee’s best friend Manga dog--Blaze upside down.  I found a great black and whit photo of  my bro donnel posted by WolfFang101. Hard to find exactly what other people would like to see when it comes to photos.  No fan art please though.

Ok, I know I told you that I am a sucker for Pokemon, well fiction is no exception. It may not be the best story I ever read but at part six, I am well behind the time. Any way I thought I would share it with you anyway because it was a … wait I am not going to give it a way.  DragonTamerSky brings us Hopeful Hearts P. 6.

Our fearless leader JimDevico shares My first piece of art. You will have to see it for yourself and make your own judgment. I am thinking abstract?!

Spinndack
ask us to check out his online slideshow End Times Short Film Slideshow. He has a link to the film set up for easy access.

FariyGirl123 shares the new single video by Au Café - Kakusei Heroism ~ The Hero Without A Name ~. I watch this on Friday and was impressed even without knowing Japanese. Also in her video collection is Ayabie - Sakura Mau Kisetsu Ni PV.

DogFan715 give us a review called I love I Luv Halloween. This is on volume one of the series. She gives the volume 5 out of 5 stars.  This is a short review. I had only wished that more was given about all the characters.

DarkHana reviews one of our own Imperium. The review is called Death of an Oricle for the story Born in Fire. The review is a little hard to understand. But DarkHana give the story a 3 out of 5 stars.

END NOTES

Yes, this edition of What’s the Scoop has come to an end. I hope you all enjoyed the information that was gathered. I am still looking for help in gathering music sites to use. Something that is more reliable then yesasia.com. This weekly posting does not seem all that bad but this is only the second week. I have created short cuts on gathering some news. So, I am hoping to do this until our Tokyopop Round-Up queen comes back. Then maybe I will go to twice a week again.

How many have to tooled around the new site? Have you caught some of the pages that are still under construction. If not they sport this lovely message:

Oops. You caught us with our pants down!
We're working really hard on this page.
                                Please check back soon.

Well, I have and the list isn’t as long as I would have thought. But it may contain something that you are interested in checking out. They are: Mangastrology, Games, Mobile and Imanga. If any of the are something you really want to check out then let TP know. Maybe the sponsors will hear and make it a priority.

Well everyone enjoy your week and happy blogging, reviewing and much more.

We don't have all the country flags made for the site yet but plan to continue giving you guys more and more. I'm working on getting a different default flag up if we don't have your country flag in our system yet so you won't be stuck with a US flag. Please hang in there!
