April Corcoran

There was once a little girl with baby baby blue eyesand blond hair. the child was a pretty little girl. that girl is me and my name is April. This is my story. I was born on April 3, 1992, during a thunder storm. My biological parents said that they named me April because my mom kept on saying Storm, Lightning, Thunder, April. I have two older brothers and a younger sister. Now we are all adopted.

July 3, 1999 memory                                                    September 1, 2008
“See you when I get back Kevin Cory, Kevin Kyle, and Meg-Ann” I called to my three best friends. K. C. C. and K. K. C. were twins and the cutest boys in my eyes. Meg-Ann and I had a thing for boys with black hair. I liked K. C. C. and Meg-Ann liked K. K. C. We were inseparable.
“Yeah see you when you get back, April.” My friends shouted and waved until we could no longer see or hear them. It was the start of our annual Forth of July family trip. Mom and Shelly would lounge by the water while my siblings and I went swimming. We were all going to have fun and watch the fireworks.
“Momma, Timmy threw April’s and my hats out the window, again!” Tiffy whined for the third time. Ray just sat and observed from his little corner. I just sat and stared doe-eyed scared.
“Can’t you do something to control them Mary-Anne. They are driving me nuts and I have a headache.” Shelly complained.
“They are children, Shelly, not beast who can be tamed and controlled. It’s natural for them to behave like this.” Mom tried to reason calmly with Shelly, except, Shelly just had to have peace and quiet.
“I can’t stand it any longer. They are so nosy and annoying. They need to be taught to be quiet, NOW!!”

"Why did Daddy leave, Steffy?" I cried,"Why?" I had just turned five years old, and hated it when my parents weren't around.

1996 memory                                         September 3, 2008

When I was younger I noticed that I could say things that nobody could understand. It was like I spoke a different language that noone in the entire world

could understand. The funny thing is my little sister never spoke that language.

Mamma and Daddy never had any before me. They were two young people in their late twenties, early thirties. i became their first and only.they couldn't have any children of their ownand Mamma wanted a child. So they decided to adopt one. They went through the process of adoption at Adoption Rhode Island and learned about me.

At the time I was only twelve and was in DCYF custody ever since i was seven. I lived with a nun from July 17, 1999 to December 23, 2004. Her name was Sister Mary Jacinta and She was a Sister of Mercy. We lived in north providence and I went to Marieville Elementary. Sister took in foster children, at the most four although she could fit six, four upstairs in the gold and blue rooms and two downstairs in the pink room. We were all girls, but when i first came to live with her, she thought I was a boy, I was seven then, now I am sixteen years five months and a day.
