This book is a wonderful mixture of sci fi and politics. It takes modern day issues like eating disorders and cosmetic surgery and turns them into a story that is memorable and really makes you think.
The story is about a girl called Tally who dreams of her sixteenth birthday, where she gets the operation to make her a pretty. Then she meets shay. Will Shay change her mind? Will Tally ever become pretty?
This is an ideal book for teenagers that explores the possibility of a world where anoyone normal is considered ugly...
I am going to be reviewing a book I have read reently called Uglies by Scott Westerfield.

Scott Westerfeld is an awesome writer. I've read the whole series, & I'm sorry to say that your review doesn't really do the book justice. There's a lot more to it than being controversial & making you think. & also, there's nothing about eating disorders, though I get what you mean. It's the modern day issue of 'perfection' in general.

kool i finished that book a couple of days ago! it's really good and now i'm reading the next one called Pretties ^_^
