2. Hot, hot afternoon

It’s hottest afternoon ever and the weather is going to be like that the whole weekend. The whole school is empty. All have gone to spend weekend in their own way. Even yard is empty, usually there are at least few kids playing. Only outside school are some living souls. From radio comes advices how to keep yourself cool and reminds to drink enough water. All are at home and tries not to get too hot.

 A girl has dared to go out and tries to get to her destination A.S.A.P. or at least before she melts in the sun. She has even more hotter, because she has to carry her tree bags.  She goes to a big Trevilla -house where physician Retz Caridell lives. He is very famous and has cured many illnesses. She knocks and a woman comes to open the door.

»Ah, good afternoon. How can I help you miss? »the woman asks.

»Uh, hi. I have a meeting with Retz Caridell at 5 o’clock. » the girl says little shy.

»So you’re the one who he has been waiting for. Come indoors, you’re roasting in there. » the woman says and opens the door so girl can come inside.

»Thank you miss-? » girl says.

»Ah, I’m just Mr. Caridell’s secretary. My name is Tania Lere. » Tania tells, when she leads the girl to Caridell’s waiting room. »I’m leaving soon, so you came just right time. » she smiles at the girl and takes her tree bags. Tania knocks the door. »Mr. Caridell? Here is that girl you have been waiting. »

»Oh, thank you Tania, please send her in. » hears from through the doors.

»Go’ on. He’s waiting »Tania says, opens the door and sends girl inside.

»Thank you » girl says before she goes inside. Tania smiles back, shuts the door after the girl. She leaves girl’s bags beside doors and leaves.

The girl stands in and sees a very homelike room. Whole room is warm, brown, red and dark green. There is wood floor with Persian Kashan carpets. In right is four big windows with dark green curtains, brown armchairs, two big sofas, big fireplace is in the rear of the room. In left is many bookshells full of different books, some are medical others not, between them is brown MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan –apparatus and computer beside it. Mr. Caridell is in one armchair and reads book.

»Ah, welcome! How are you today? » Mr. Caridell stands up and comes to shake hands with the girl.

»Just fine. I have had some slight attacks… but those haven’t last long. » the girl says and tries to smile a little.

»Hmm…well that was expected. I hope it hasn’t grown. Let’s look it shall we? » Mr. Caridell leads girl to a MRI scan apparatus.

»Excuse me Mr. Caridell, but you haven’t tell me why that MRI scan’s colour is brown…aren’t those usually white? »asks girl and glares at apparatus.

»I haven’t told you? Well I decide to paint it, because it was too different in here. Now it really suits here don’t you think? » Mr. Caridell explains and smiles.

»Heh, you’re right. It does looks better now. » girl gives a laugh and sits on apparatus.

»Should I take off my glasses? » the girl asks.

»Oh yes. They might disturb scanning. I put these in here table, so you can find them. » Mr. Caridell takes her glasses. » Now lie down and try not to move. »

»Okay » girl says. She has done this many times before so she knows what to do.

»Vrrrooouuroouuu » girl slides into the bore on a special table and MRI begins to scan and form images to computers monitor.

»Hmm…it seems same as before. » Mr. Caridell says and scrutinizes images.

»That’s a good thing, right? » girl asks while table slides out of MRI scan.

»Yes, but someone should watch you all the time and take care of you when these attacks get worse. Do you have any? » Mr. Caridell asks worried.

»Well I - I don’t have any…» girl says and smiles little sadly.

»Well then, my nephew can keep an eye on you, you get company and help when needed. » Mr. Caridell says cheerful and press one button in table.

»BUT MR…» girl tries to oppose.

»No, no. It’s most sensible right now. Besides he knows what to do, I have taught him myself. I would also willingly take you under my roof. » Mr. Caridell says simply and smiles gently. »You have already been enough by yourself. » he adds.

Girl doesn’t know what to say. No one has ever helped her so much and now she wouldn’t be alone anymore.

»Really? But I…thank you. » she smiles gingerly.

»So there. » Mr. Caridell smiles. Someone knocks the door. »Come in. »

A teenager boy comes in. »You called Uncle Retz? » boy says and notices that Retz isn’t alone.

»Yes I did. I want you to help this young miss and keep an eye on her. You will share same room. »

»Okay. My name is Chet Caridell miss. » he smiles and turns to look the girl. *He is quite beautiful and seems to have experienced lot, mostly bad things.* Girl has multicolour shirt, front is a big electric-blue snake and back is Black Panther. She has dark blue jeans.

»Uh, hi. *wow, he really looks cute, even thought I can’t see well without my glasses. That violet shirt is so cool and those blue jeans really suits to him* girl thinks and gets up MRI scan apparatus and takes her glasses. »I’m Kat Sinear. Nice to me- »

»It’s YOU!? » Kat and Chet shout at same time when they recognize each other.

»Ah, so you know each other already. Well then, go now and show her room to her Chet. »MR. Caridell says and nods to doors direction.

»But… this has to be mistake. »Kat says in little panic. »I’ not going to go with him! »

»I surely don’t want her to live in here! »Chet almost yells.

They glare at each other and can’t believe what they just heard.

»So there » Mr. Caridell starts to irritated. »Stop that and go. I have to work now.

»But- » Chet and Kat protest.

»No buts! Case is now decided and you will share same room now. You’re going to help each other and that’s it! »Mr. Caridell tries to look cold, but actually he is going to burst into laugh.
