The students where chattering nervously as they hurried down the halls toward the shelter of their classrooms, most of the had theories about what was happening. Probably false theories, there was everything from hostage situation to nuclear attack, but never the less they could not stop uttering them to anyone willing to listen. They are scaring each other, Rina though to herself as she followed the crowd.

"He sounded serious", a girls voice concluded, it was clear that she was scared. The rest of them agreed with her in a moment, some louder than others. The unusal about the situation frightened them, that was the real truth, not what could have happened. Up until now they had lived a comfortable life, one where nothing wrong ever occured, and that was why they looked like they where held at gunpoint right now.

Irina was close behind her, almost so close that Rina could hear the other girl breath. She felt the same as everyone about this, Rina was sure about that, but for once she didn't say anything. Although, the absense of stupid comments might be saying more than any kind of words could have.

The school had 1500 student divided in three buildings, one for each year, and by the look of it all of the third year students where in the same corridor right now. At least that was how it felt. Everyone was pushisng each other out of the way, trying to get out of sight as soon as possible. No one seemed to care about acting civilised anymore, that had gone out the window with the speaker announcement.  

It took a few minutes to get back to the classroom, the time could have been cut in half if there hadn't been panic in the air, and when they finally got there everyone threw themselves inside like it was a safe haven. All of the class looked carefully at Mrs. Petersen as she turned the key in the lock and let the small silver object fall into the left hand pocket of her pants. When she did they let out a loud sigh, now they where going to be okay.

They don't understand anything, Rina though, and was just barely capable of stopping the condecending smile that was sneeking in to her face. She wanted to tell them sometimes, shout it out for everyone to hear, but her self preservation was to big for stuff like that. Unlike some she knew, she mastered the art of controlling herself.

She didn't like the situation, not even a little bit, but she wasn't going to get hysterical. That didn't help anyone it only made it worse. They didn't get that, didn't understant that they made it all a million times worse than it had to be. Paniced is a long way from uncomfortable, a very long way, and unlike them she was the only one that would have a reason the panic. Like it was happening right now, the memories blended with the cold eyes of the dark guy.

She had only been ten years old then, nothing more than a defensless child. The bench had been of the same model as the ones at this school but it's home was a place far away from here. There the floors was dirty, no curtains could be seen and most of the chairs where different from the next. Yet it was a place that, until that very day, had felt like the home she was unable to find anywhere else.

A man had been standing there. A tall man with a gun in his hand. He was ready to use it, flicked it back and forth between the teacher and her terrified students.There was no blood on the floor yet, it was as spotless as this place ever was, but it wouldn't be long now. Wouldn't be long until everything changed.

"I want to go to the bathroom", a brownhaired girl said, and immidiately the man turned his face to her. She was tiny, even for her age, and had freckles all over har childish face. When he came closer she drew back. Her friend, another small girl with blond ponytails, grabbed her arm and tried to pull her out of the way from the gun.

"I told you not to speak!", the man yelled and lifted the gun. The girls screamed, a heartbreaking sound of fear. Then the sound of the gun going off came, and everything went quiet.
