Rina could feel a shiwer go down her spine, reluctantly she admitted to herself that the situation scared her. From what she could see it was nothing more than a miracle that the person with the wounded face was even alive. Even though she didn't care much for the people that went to her school she hoped from the very depth of her heart that it wasn't anyone she knew that was on the stretcher. The situation was unpleasant enough as it was.

What if he dies? she could not help but to ask herself the question, but she wasn't sure she would like to get an answer. Because than it would be murder. And the thought of something like that happening so close to her, once again, was more than she could bare.

With a sigh she hoped that no one would hear she saw the ambulance back out from the premises and disapear out of sight. The school staff was still outside the building though, both the nurse and the biology teacher was looking at the headmaster for support. He didn't seem to have any to give them though, he was walking back and forth between the entrance and the place where the ambulance had stood and apeared to be talking to himself.

"When can we leave here", the question was so loud that Rina almost jumped and when she turned she was slightly surprised to see that everyone now seemed to be bored rather than scared. They had started to fix their makeup, textmessage boyfriends, girlfriends, chauffeurs or others and search in their bags for the locker-keys. It was clear that they where ready to go home now, and Rina could not help but to be surprised over how fast they had recovered from the chock.

"Soon", she heard herself say, no knowing if that was even the slighest bit true. They didn't seem to think about that though, when she said something no one even considered the possibility that she could be wrong. She knew that they would think that it was in the time frame of "soon" whenever they got out now. Because she had told them so.

The door opened just a few moments later and Mrs. Petersen came in. She was pale and seemed sort of out of it when she turned towards her class. The hand she raised to make people quiet was shaking slightly.

"You may go home for today", her words wasn't even a little more secure than her outlook, "this will all be sorted out in the morning". It didn't seem like she believed a word of what she said, but not many of the student noticed that. As soon as they had heard the word home they had lost interest for anything else.

"This was a strange day", Irina said as she walked beside Rina out of the classroom. The whitehaired girl had picked up a little mirror from her extremely large brown bag and was now focusing all of her attention on her lipgloss.

"Yeah", Rina said, mostly because she felt like she needed to say something. Her mind wasn't really present anymore, at least not all of it. It felt like someone has put a blanket over her brain and all the thoughts had to fight their way through the fabric. In fact her reactions where so slow that Irina had almost walked right in to the doors of the side entrance before she reacted and pulled her our of the way.

"Thanks", Irina said before she turned to run towards the black Mercedes that was already waiting for her at the gates.

"You're welcome", Rina muttered as she faced reality, she was going to have to walk home.
