Chapter 2
When I got back to the van my friends started asking me
all these questions. I got them to shut up by telling them I got her cell phone
number.
"Really? Nice Melissa, you scored!" Jade high fived me,
Eric smiled.
"Is she single?" Mandy asked me.
"I hope so, but I don't know."
Someone who looks that hot shouldn't be single." Jade
announced to the group. He is so helpful at time, however you gotta love him.
I wanted to call her right away, and ask if she wanted to
hang out. I was so naïve then, however I did know one thing which was that I
wanted to be with her. I took a deep breath to calm down and then programmed
her phone number into my cell.
"When are you going to call her to hang out?" Jade asked,
it was as if he could read my mind.
"I really dunno, I don't want to call her tomorrow and
sound desperate, yet I don't want to call her in a week and tell I've been
busy, when really I'm lying to her. I do want
to call her soon though." I answered Jade, but more said to my group of
friends.
"You just can't wait to get into her pants can you?"
"What the hell Jade?!"
"You do though, you're blushing Melissa. Give it up."
"No further comments." Truth was I wanted her to be my
first, and I wanted to kiss her so badly. I already had my first kiss, and it
was the worst I've had, compared to Laphira- wait I'm getting ahead of myself.
I heard my friends laughing at me, so there wasn't much I
could do, so I joined them and started laughing at myself, I really don't know
why I was laughing though.
Just then my cell phone rang, I looked at the caller ID
and it came up as restricted. I picked it up anyway. "Hello?" I asked unsure.
"Yeah, hi this is Melissa right?" A girly voice asked I
knew that voice I just couldn't place it to a person.
"Who wants to know?" I asked my ‘stalker.'
"You think she'll fall for it? A whisper asked the group,
and then a loud, "Christina!" was followed. Right after I heard Christina
‘ruin' it I knew it was Jade's impersonation of a girl on the phone. I've
always told him that he sounds more like being gay than he does sounding like a
girl. He doesn't agree.
"Jade, how are you?" I asked into the phone.
"Good, I was wondering how long it would take you to
figure out it was me calling you. I mean I am sitting right next to you."
"Well it's not my fault for not noticing."
"Yes, it is."
"I thought you were going to call Eric and prank call
him, I didn't think that you were going to call me."
"Obviously you weren't thinking."
I then hung up on him. After I did that he called Eric, I
know this because I heard answer his phone with a, "Yes, Jade?"
"Melissa hung up on me! Can you believe it?" I then saw
Eric hang up on him.
"Why doesn't anybody love me?" Jade faked cried.
"I love you Jade!" Christina said and tried to kiss him
on the cheek, however Jade pushed her away. (Christina was sitting on the other
side of Jade, Mark and Shawn were sitting in the middle of the van and Mandy
was sitting in the passenger's seat where as Eric was driving.)
"Aren't you a lesbian?" He questioned her.
"I'm bi."
"That's bull." He mumbled.
"What?"
"Nothing," he said as he looked over at me and shook his
head, I saw the look on his face and laughed.
"Seriously what did you say?" Christina asked, her voice
getting angry.
"I didn't say anything."
"That's bull."
Jade sighed and rolled his eyes.
"What?" Christina asked again.
"Christina, just shut up."
Christina just sat there her mouth agape with shock; she
looked like she was just slapped in the face.
"Why do you even hang out with us?" Everyone in the van
went silent; Jade had just spoken what everyone was thinking.
"Why do you ask that? I've been hanging out with you guys
since I was in the 7th grade."
"Exactly, why though? There must be some reason."
"No what Jade, you can just go to hell."
"Already been there, I'm friends with Lucifer, we're
tight."
Christina just rolled her eyes and sighed. There was no
way she could win this fight, not up against Jade anyway.
"So much for her loving you," I mentioned to Jade.
"Yeah, but it works cause I don't love her."
"I heard that."
Christina hissed.
"Good, you were supposed to hear it."
Eric decided that now was a good time to turn the radio
on, the song that came on was, Three Days Grace: (I Hate) Everything about You.
I started laughing hysterically.
"Melissa it's not that funny," Jade told me snickering.
"I know, but I can't stop laughing." To make things
"better" Eric turned the sound up.
