From You to Me

" It was interesting to say the least."

Onyx colored eyes looked over amusing across to the identical same color of eyes glaring at him from the corner of the limo. Yes, Itachi Uchiha found his little brother very amusing.

Sasuke grunted. It was bad enough that his half brother now took it as his duty to make his life miserable but now they were back, here in Kyoto.

Flashback

"Ugh, I don't understand any of this!" Sasuke glared at the papers in front of him. He hated finaces now more than ever. What the hell was wrong with the elders? Didn't they understand that he found this stuff boring as hell. He growled.

" Aw, little brother, looks like you're having some trouble with the company's finaces. Don't worry, I checked all the references and we are good for now." Itachi walked into the room, a slight smirk present on his face.

Sasuke felt himself grow even more irritated.

" Did you just come here to add to my misery?"

Itachi's smirk was very visible now

. " Now, now Sasuke, its quite the opposite really. I'm just here to tell you something that Obito has brought to my attention. Apparently the National Martial Arts Championship is in Kyoto this week and from what I can remember, Konoha is one of the many prestige schools that are participating in it. Weren't you in the kendo club?"

Sasuke scowled

. " Yeah, so what of it?"

Itachi walked across the room. which served as a sitiing room just in front of Sasuke's bedroom. He waited fro a moment before addressing his point

. " I'm interested in seeing this tournament. I remember Father was very in oove with martial arts and that he would go to the touraments just to watch. And since yourold school is participating, I thought you would like to go."

Sasuke narrowed his eyes and looked down.

" You just want to piss me off at not being part of the tournament." He muttered underneath his breath.

" What was that?" Itachi turned around.

" Nothing, weasel."

End Flashback

Sasuke frowned at the momory and now regreted his decision to come. It had hurt to go to the tournament. It had hurt to see Naruto and the others fight, knowing full well he couldn't be a part of them. But something else had hurt to. Despite swearing to himself that he wouldn't think about her, Sasuke was very aware of Kiyone being in the same place at the same time. While Itachi was silently watching the matches, he stole away and pretended to look for the bathroom, instead he headed directly to the place where she would be. He saw that the Hyuuga was fighting and winning too. He had scowled at this and then brightened up as Neji got hit on the side. His eyes wandered to where the other members were sitting at and then stopped. Looking odd around a group of tall, muscualr guys, he could make out little Kiyone in the mist of them. He felt his heart tighten when he saw her. Should he talk to her? Or should he avoid her.

Thump.

He was pulled back from his thoughts as Neji threw his opponent to the side and was delcared winner. Sasuke's usual scowl made it to his face. So what if the Hyuuga was good, he was even better. To add to his dissatisfaction, Kiyone cheered loudly and was grinning madly at the Hyuuga. Familiar jealousy now filling him, he turned to go away. He stopped once he heard Kiyone's name being called. Turing around, he watched the midget go to the center of the stadium, looking fragile and delicate. One would have thought that she would be intidated but he saw her slightly smirk.

Heh, she never changes.

Watching the match, he felt himself fill with worry as she charged at the guy, only to be blocked. As the match continued, he tensed everytime the guy came at her, promising himself that if she got hurt, he was going to murder the guy. To his astonishmnet, Kiyone gained the upper hand and flipped the guy to his back.

He winced. damn, that midget's not normal.

He later saw her come up to her parents and being congratulated by a number of his old friens that seemed to become her good friends. He had then stuffed his hands to his pockets and left.

Looks like I'm not missed.

" Thinking about Raimstau?" Sasuke startled and looked to his right. Gaara's family was very good friends with the Uchiha and thus was invited by Itachi to try to strengthen the bonds between the two. He had been more delighted to learn the Gaara and Sasuke were already comrades. Naruto had also been invited to come but the dobe had chosen to go to Sakura's house instead. No way Sasuke was going to the pink-haired nusicence's house.

" Hn, why would I be doing that?" He asked coldly.

Gaara shrugged and looked out the window. " She misses you."

Sasuke's heart skipped but he remained impassive. " Why would she miss someone like me?"

Gaara continued to look out the window. " Maybe its because she likes you."

Sasuke's eyes widen, looking at Gaara incredulously. Itachi looked at the two in confusion. He was about to open his mouth when.....

Ring, Ring

Gaara scowled and reached into his pocket to take out his cell. Temari had insisted that he and his high school drop out brother Kankuro carry cell at all times. " What."

Sasuke heard a high pitch voice coming from the phone that could only be indentified as Naruto. He decided to ignore it and focused his attention on what Gaara had said. Kioyne likes me? But she's with the Hyuuga.

" Shit." Gaara muttered. Sasuke turned to look at him. Gaara's face was slightly worried.

" Naruto just told me that Kohaku has been in a ccident. He's uncousious." Sasuke stopped. Although his attention was alway stuck on Kiyone, during the prepartaion for the party he and the other Raimatsu had become very good friends. Oh no, Kiyone!

He turned alarmed to Gaara.

Gaara shook his head. ' Kiyone wasn't with him. She has been with the others at Sakura's house. They are going to the hospital now. Naruto said that Kiyone is in a shocked stage."

Sasuke winced. He knew how close the twins are. He turned to Itachi who had been listening carefully. " Itachi, tell the driver to take us to the hospital."

Tachi raised an eyebrow and shrugged. " Fine by me. "

As soon as they got to the hospital, the two boys shot out and ran to the front office. They didn't even hear Itachi say that he was going back to the hotel.

Ani-kun! Ani-kun!

Kiyone was hyperventilating. The real reason she was in shock was because she couldn't reach her brother. Kohkau didn't answer. It was almost as if the connection had been lost.

The group had arrived to the hospital a few minutes ago and already the docters were expecting the worst. Kohaku had a gash going from his left shoulder blade to the middle of his chest , from where the other car's glass had loosen and flew past his body.He had also bumped his head against the window and was bleeding heavily from his forehed. Seeing her brother in this state was making Kiyone paranoid.

" Kiyone!"

" Don't worry, he'll be ok!"

" Kiyone, please calm down!" These voices were lost to her.

Ani-kun! Dammit! Answer Ani-kun!

" Kiyone!"

Ani-kun!

She felt two hands grab her and shook.

" Dammit, breathe! Snap out of it! You'll go into shook!"

She couldn't see anything. Everything was blurry, but she knew that voice.

" Dammit! Raimastu!"

There was only one person who would call her that and in that tone.

" Sasuke." she forced her mouth to move. Her vision cleared and sure enough, it was Sasuke. He was looking at her with a panicked expression, which was now slowly calming down into relief. Her eyes widen.

" Sasuke, Kohaku... I can't feel Kohaku!" she clutched to him, shaking him as her eyes panicked again. Sasuke shook her harder.

" Stop it!" He ordered." Calm down!"

And with that she felt herself go limp. Luckily Sasuke had a good grip on her and held her tight against his chest.

" Take her outside. she needs fresh air." Neji's voice came to her ears. She felt Sasuke nod and began to drag her down the hall.

" Wait, I have to stay here! Ani-kun!" Sasuke refused to listen to her and before she knew it, they were outside in the hospital recreation garden. She felt him stop and push her slighty back so he can look at her face.

" He'll be alright. They just said that his pulse has begun to slowly go to normal."

His eyes looked so worried.

" I know that!" she snapped, slapping his arms away. " But...I keep trying to contact hi and he won't answer. He's still unconsious.He won't answer."

Sasuke sighed wearily. This wasn't the way he had wanted to greet her again. " Of course he won't answer, you two were in completely different rooms."

Kiyone clenched her fist. " I don't mean that! His mind, Sasuke, I can't feel his mind!"

Sasuke looked at her as if she had finally lost it.

She took another breath and looked at him seriously. " Ani-kun and I have a connection. I can hear his thoughts and he can hear mine. But....now I feel nothing!"

Sasuke blinked and then looked away thoughtfully. " So twin telepathy is true, huh."

Kiyone raised her eyebrow, her forehead still creased with worry. Sasuke looked down at her and gave her a reassuring smile.

" He'll be fine. He's tough." Seeing the skeptical look in Kiyone's face, he sighed and lead her over to a tree at the far corner of the garden. It was then that he noticed that Kiyone was shivering slightly under her blue sweater and jeans, though she was unaware of it. He sat next to the tree and took off his jacket and handed it to her.

" Here, its cold out."

" You'll be cold too." Kiyone muttered, not taking it as she took a seat next to him. It was until now that she felt the warmth that his body radiated. Sasuke thought about that and then gestured to come closer to him.

" Put you arms around me and I'll cover the both of us with the jacket."

Kiyone frowned and then blushed at what he was asking. " Will it be big enough?"

Sasuke shrugged. Shaking her head, Kiyone leaned over to him and wrapped her arms around his tourso as his right hand moved to cover them both. She couldn't help but blush. Stop it! Kohaku is unconsious and all you're thinking about is how close you are to Sasuke.

She could feel his heart beating underneath and to her surprise, it was beating just as fast as hers was. She dissmised the stupid thooughts going through her head and instead focused on convincing herself that her brother will be ok.

" You know, I came here when I was 7. All the nurses were looking at me like if I was going to die right in front of them or worse, snap and go crazy or something." Kiyone looked up. Sasuke was looking at the sky, deep in thought.

" My parents had just been killed and I was slightly covered with their blood. I had been hiding in the closet for like 3 hours before the authorities came. They didn't find me until they began to search the house. I was all shooken up and couldn't talk." Kiyone felt her eyes widen. Sasuke sounded like he was far away.

" I stayed here for a couple of days. The docters didn't knew what to do with me. I was unresponsive and paid no attention to those who spoke to me. Thier faces were all blurry. Back then, time stopped for me. Even though I was a kid...I wanted to die."

" Sasuke." Kiyone whispered and shivered slightly. Ssuke looked down at her, his eyes filled with hurt and pain, he smiled softly while stroking her arm..

" But then Kakashi came and took me away. The rest of my family was in Nagasaki so they didn't come right away. I stayed with him for a few days before Obito came. I don't remember much, all that is pretty much hazy now. For that small amout of time I died inside. But you know..... I was brought back to life by a cartain stupid blonde dope. Naruto, who was also a orphan, came to me at school and scolded, or yelled at me if you wish. I had been getting the special treatment from everyone, the son of the dead Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha and therefore I was unapproachable and unique. I had hated everyone at that point but the dope didn't care. He told me that I wasn't so different from millions of other kids and that I should stop mopeing around and stop feeling so sorry for myself. He didn't care that I try to push him away. He just came back and back, telling me that he wanted to help me and be my friend. I guess I got tired if him and decided to finally let him in. He's one of the few people who actually understands me and knows what I've gone though. I guess that's why he my 'best' friend.'

Kiyone stared at him for a long time. " Sasuke, why are you telling me this?"

Sasuke shrugged and looked away. " You told me once that you wanted to know. So I'm telling you. And besides, you told me your secret and it should be fair that I tell you mine."

Kiyone looked down, processing all of this. He must have been through so much.

" Thanks, for letting me in." she said softly. Sasuke nodded. " So, you guys really talk to each other in your heads?"

Kiyone laughed softly. " Yeah, but most of the time I have to block out his idiotic thoughts from my mind."

Sasuke chuckled. Kiyone took a breath, an of the many she has beening doing tonight, and let it out. She unwrapped herself from him and looked at him seriously. " Sasuke....I like you. More than a friend." There I said it.

Sasuke blinked and grinned. " Yeah, Gaara told me."

Kiyone jumped up. " WHAT!"

Sasuke stood up and wrapped him arms around her waist, making her jump. " And guess what, I like you too." He muttered.

" Wha-" She was caught off from his sudden kiss. Soft and light, she felt like she was in heaven. His arms tighten around her and pressed his lips harder against him. She followed along.

Pulling back, Sasuke smirked and squeezed her waist reassuringly. " Let's go see if your brother is any better."

Pulling her toward the building, Kiyone felt a smile appearing on her face, not only because the guy she liked liked her back but also because far up the fourth floor of the hospital, an all too familair aura was making her mind reconnect with a certain twin.
