Edmund is a pretty minor character in Kat & Mouse, but that wasn't always the case. In fact, he was originally one of the book's three main characters. When Alex de Campi initially pitched Kat & Mouse to us, it was called "Half Life," and instead of being about two girls who solved mysteries, it was about two girls and one boy--Edmund. Unfortunately, Edmund was soon relegated to the sidelines when we decided to age down the characters. He hasn't been dropped from the book entirely, however. He's barely in the first volume, but in the second volume, he plays a small, but crucial, role. That role involves his purchase of the poster he's cuddling in this unused chapter break. Wondering how a poster can make him such an important character? You'll have to read the second book to find out!
