More then skin deep
By Cathleen Smith
“Come on, just once, please!” Mattie begged. “No, now get dressed for school.” I said running around the house frustrated. “Not till you sing the song.” She said very insistent. I really had no choice, once Mattie wanted something she either got it or she sat on the floor and it was like the flow of time stopped. “Ok, but while you get dressed.” I said as she ran up the stairs. Dealing with a six year old is more trouble then I need right now. “SING.” Mattie demanded. “Life of a river, life of a duck, make me some breakfast, before I get stuck. There I sang one verse now get ready for school.” I said. Suddenly the phone rang. “Hello.” I said sounding less then enthusiastic. “Yo, where’s the Mattie monster?” It was my friend from school. He always came over to help with Mattie. “She getting dressed, I hope.”
This is a book I've been writting for months. (Only a portion of it though)
