Review of "Fruits Basket"

I like just about all love stories especially in a manga series but this story is unbelievable.  I usually tend to lean a certain way whenever a love triange is involved in any story but this is the first time I've been sad because I want it to work out for everyone!  And, of course, it can't.  The entire series is tragedy after tragedy and oddly enough gives you a sense of hope.  Maybe it's the characters healing from past events and their new found happiness that is so inspiring.  The manga-ka, Natsuki Takaya, is by far  the best I've found in her ability to back pedal and tell the past without messing up the flow of a story.  The reader is able to sympathize with characters, cheer on young love, and are always left wanting more!
