Undertown: The Script -- BK 1 page 10

PAGE TEN

Panel One: These two pages contain six full-tier panels in a slow move from the hospital to the Cloud's Sugar Factory. Let's keep the camera angle low, as if from an insect's POV.

Here in panel one, pull back from the previous panel. The old man is now revealed to be some kind of hologram. The specific effect should be like he is a static-y TV transmission. Think the way that Sadako in Ringu appears at the end. He should be breaking up.

Over this scene, the dialog between the leader of the insects and her second-in-command begins in captions.

1/CAPTION: "Thank you for coming."

2/CAPTION: "As you wish, the Cloud. Praise the hive."

Panel Two: Establishing shot of the exterior of the Sugar Factory. It should be recognizable from the last page, but now it looks as it really does: decrepit, dark, creepy. It's night. When the insects come out.

3/THE CLOUD (OFF): A plague has come to us, Xenakis. The Furmen mock us, our ways, our traditions.

4/XENAKIS (OFF): Yes, the Cloud, they do.

Panel Three: Inside the factory. A dark empty hallway, perhaps similar in composition to the hospital hallway in page four, panel two.

5/THE CLOUD (OFF): The Factory suffers, our land suffers ... our resources are diminishing, our people are being compromised. Insects deserve better.

CAUTION: Spoiler! In the script I refer to the Cloud as "her," but if you pay attention in the printed manga, the Cloud is never called her, him, he or she.
