Chapter 1: The Long Journey Ahead

“Today is so hot.” Rena lies on the smooth grass underneath a shade given off by a tree. “I just started on my journey and I’m already beat” *sigh* “maybe I’m just feeling lazy cause of the humidity.” “We’ll I won’t get anywhere if I don’t start walking to the next town.” Rena gets up from the ground, grabs her belongings and starts walking. “Hmmm……*growl* Rena puts her hand on her stomach. “Ahhh…. I’m so hungry.” She opens her bag to find something to eat. ”hmm….. What the!” she keeps searching in her bag. “Ahhh there’s nothing!” “Wha….. But I stocked up before I left town? Rena thinks for awhile. “Uh….oh…” she scratches her head. “ I just remembered that I ate it all when I was resting by that tree the entire time.” *sigh* “I’m such a cow; I didn’t even noticed that I finished all of the food for the trip.” *sigh* “oh! I wonder how much money I have, maybe I have enough to buy something to eat!” she excitedly opens her money pouch. “Tee-hee” she looks inside her pouch.” What the…………I DON’T HAVE ANY MONEY EITHER!!!!!! “What happened to all of my money?” “Oh wait! I just remembered that I used all of the money to buy those snacks before I left town.” *sigh* “now I’m hungry with no food or money to keep me going, I’m such an idiot.” “Great, just great, I have to do something to earn some money, but what?” she scratches her head for awhile. “Hey, stop! Please leave us alone! A man shouts. “Huh!”  Rena looks down the road and sees five guys trying to steal from a kid and an old man. “Please” the kid begs. “This is all the food we have left for ourselves, don’t take it please!” the kid begs. “Hey, step aside you punk, if you get in our way we would have to kill you.” The man shouts. He shoves the kid to the ground. “Ahhh” the kid yells. “Please leave my grandson alone, take everything you want, but please don’t hurt him.” The old man begs. “oh, see you darn kid, your old man is much smarter than you, now buzz off and gives us the grub or else.” The men threatened them. Rena walks towards the men who were harassing the poor people. “Ya know, its ashamed that you would rather steal your food than work for it like civilized men, you jerks leave them alone or else.” Rena threatened them. She put her hand on her katana. “Well, well you guys look what we have here, a little winch who thinks she can beat us with her little kiddie sword.” The man laughs. “Argh” Rena gets upset. “Oh! Look, I just upset the little girl, buzz off or we would have to kill you too, don’t get involved kid or else.” The man threatened Rena. “Humph, I don’t need a sword to take care of jerks like you.” She let’s go of her sword, and raises her hands karate style towards the men. “I’m a full body weapon, touch me and you’ll regret it.” She threatened them. “Hahahahaha, she thinks she can beat us, you think you’re stronger than a man?” the man smirks, he puts his hand over his katana.” we’ll, you think you can beat us? Then come on, go for it.” He laughs. Rena runs towards them really fast. “Oh man she’s fast”, the men yell. Rena runs towards the leader of the group.”Huh!”The man becomes frozen.  Rena raises her right leg and kicks him really hard in the head, which sends him flying several miles away. “OH NO, TAKASHIIIIII!!!!!! The men yell. They all run to help him.  Takashi couldn‘t even get up. “Damn she’s strong, what is she? I never saw a kick that hard before. That’s it men we can’t let her get away with what she did to Takashi. Kill her, kill her NOW!!!!!!!” “Right”, they yelled. They all pull out their katana’s and they all rush to kill Rena. “Pfffft, YOU BUNCH OF IDIOT’S YOU THINK YOU CAN KILL ME? YOU HAVE SOMEHING COMING TO YOU, COME ON TRY TO KILL ME WITH YOUR PUNY SWORDS!!!!!” Rena yells. Rena runs towards them, she jumps in the air and pulls out some shurikens and throws some towards the group of men. “Ahhhhhh, ughhhhhh.” All the men get injured by the shurikens. Rena lands to the ground turns around and runs towards one of the men closes to her and punches him in the stomach, gives him an upper cut to the chin, and hits him with her elbow in the stomach. “Ughhhhhh” the man shouts, he falls to the ground. “HAHAHAHAHA, WHICH CREEP IS NEXT?” Rena yells. The last three men standing look at each other in fear, they put away their katana’s. “Okay we give-up, just don’t kill us?” one of the men begged. “NO, YOU MUST ALL PERISHHHH!!!!!!” Rena yells while she pulls out her katana. “NOOOOOOO!!!!! The boy yells while he runs towards Rena to stop her. He grabs her from behind to hold her back from killing the men. “LET ME GO.” Rena yells. She struggles to get loose from the boy’s arms. As they both struggle, the men helped their two men who were injured and rushed into town. “Huh!” Rena falls to the ground and presses her hand against her chest. “Huff huff huff”, she starts breathing really hard, the boy lets go of her. “Hey, are you okay?” the boy asks her. Rena shoves him away from her. “GET AWAY FROM ME.” She yells. “Oh no, huff huff, not now, huff huff.” She cries. “Come on, let me help you.” The boy begs. Rena ignores him; she sits really still and slowly she starts breathing in and out to calm her body down. “Huff hoof huff hoof.” Rena slowly breaths. She stays breathing in an out on the ground for a couple of minutes until she stopped. “Omigod that was a close one.” Rena whispers. The boy kneels down towards Rena. “Are you sure you’re okay?” he asks her. Rena looks at him for a moment; she gets up and brushes off some dirt from her body, grabs her katana and walks away. “HEY, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?” he yells. “I DON’T NEED YOUR HELP, BYE FOR NOW.” She yells. She keeps walking away. “Thank you for helping me, see you around.” She whispers to herself as she heads into town. “Hmmm…. That girl has a strong pride, she is also very strong. An extraordinary girl she is, if it wasn’t for her you would have lost your life to those men.” The old man tells his grandson. “Yeah I know, but I wanted to thank her.” He tells his grandfather. “Hmm…. Maybe you’ll probably get a chance to say thank you after all.” The old man tells his grandson. “Phew, what a fight, I thought I was gonna lose myself for a moment, good thing that boy stopped me *sigh* it’s great to have friends, but if they get too close all, I’m gonna do is hurt them if I go too far in a fight, I can’t risk losing someone else.” She tells herself. She then stops in front of the entrance to the town. “Hmmm…..Nagasaki town, I’m finally here. I think it’s best if I cover my identity, if he’s staying in this town I don’t want his goons to know I’m here, got to stay undercover.” She tells herself. She opens her bag and pulls out a long black coat and a handkerchief. She puts on the coat and she ties the handkerchief around her face only covering her mouth and chin, like a ninja. She pulls her hood over her head. “We’ll, let the search begin, but first, *growl* uh……..got to get something to eat. Maybe if I beg really hard to one of the cooks in one of these restaurants they’ll have to feel sorry for me and give me something to eat.” *sigh* “it might not work, but I’ll have to give it a try.” She tells herself. She then heads into town. “Wow, there are a lot of merchants here.” She says excitedly. She begins walking around town. “Wow, they have a lot of souvenir stands, huh!” Rena runs to one of the souvenir stands where they are selling porcelain geisha dolls. “These dolls are so pretty.” Rena whispers. “Well, you like dolls; are you buying one for yourself or for your daughter?” The woman asks rena.”Huh! Umm….” Rena doesn’t know what to say. “Well, looks can be deceiving.” Rena tells her.” Oh! I’m sorry, I just assumed by the way you are dressed that you were a man, I’m so very sorry.” The woman smiles. “That’s okay, I prefer to dress like a man than a woman, cause nowadays these men have gone totally perverted, if one looks at with those pervy eyes, I’m gonna make them fall out with one punch to their face, they’re a bunch of sickos.” Rena says to the woman as she shakes her fist in the air. “Hehehahahaha, that is funny, you’re a funny one.” The woman laughs while she wipes away the tears running down her face from all the laughter. *growl* “Huh!” the woman looks around. “Uh….what was that?” she asks Rena. “Uh…heheheheh that was my stomach, I haven’t eaten anything.” Rena tells the woman.”Oh! how about you come inside and have some lunch, I made some rice and tempura for my son and my dad, but they haven’t got back yet, I wonder what’ taking them so long?” she tells Rena.“Huh! An old man and a little boy, hmmm…. I wonder if it was those two people I saved from those goons outside of town.” Rena tells her. “What! What goons? Is my son and dad alright? Where are they?” she begs Rena to tell her. “Uh….. I don’t know, maybe their probably coming right now, they weren’t that far from here, maybe their taking their time coming home.” Rena tells her. “Hmm….. I hope their okay.” The woman says. “Uh…. How about I go look for them? Rena asks her. “Huh! Yes would you please, that would mean a lot to me, thank you uh……. I don’t even know your name? She asks Rena. “Oh! It’s rena.” Rena answers her. “Okay rena, please bring my son and dad home, they are all I have left in this world, thank you, thank you so much,  Oh! And my name is Kazumi Kishimoto.” Kazumi Smiles. “It’s nice to meet you Kazumi.” Rena says to Kazumi as she shakes her hand. “We’ll, I’ll be right back, I’ll bring your dad and son home safely, I promise.” Rena smiles. “Thank you.” Kazumi smiles. Rena then leaves the house and starts looking around for the boy and grandfather. “Hmmm…….. Where are they, they should’ve been here already.” Rena says to herself. She keeps looking around. “Maybe they were so hungry that they might have gone to go get a bite to eat.” Rena says to herself. “Huh! Takuya’s bar and restaurant”, hmm…. I wonder if they’re in here, well, I should check this one out. “She walks in. “Hmmm…… wow its packed.” She whispers. She looks around, she doesn’t see the old man or the little boy anywhere, but she then notices a handsome man in a long black coat sitting at the corner table looking straight at her for a moment and then looks away. “Hmmm….. What a weirdo, but he is so handsome, got to act cool, well their not here, I should look somewhere else.” She tells herself. As she turns around and was about to leave. “Oh! A customer, come sit, sit over here and take a look at our menu, come eat.” A young girl in a kimono says to Rena as the girl pulls her to a table and makes her sit. “Please take your time, I’ll be happy to help you once you’re done looking at the menu, I’ll be right back to take your order kay.” The girl smiles as she walks away. “Uh………..” Rena picks up the menu from the table and looks through it. “Dang their expensive here.” Rena tells herself. “Who would want to eat here with these kinds of prices, even if I wanted to eat here I don’t even have any money *sigh* so sad.” She cries. While she was looking at the menu, the men she was fighting earlier walked into the restaurant. “Huh! There she is Yuu, I knew I saw her come in here, there that’s her Yuu she’s the one who beat Takashi really bad.” He tells his boss. “Hmm…leave all of you, I’ll take care of her” Yuu tells his goons. “But sir, she’ll slaughter you, she’s no girl we’ve seen before, there’s something about her that isn’t right.” One of his goons tells Yuu.”Enough, enough with your nonsense, leave already.” Yuu demands,  so they all leave. Yuu then stares at Rena for awhile, he then walks towards her and grabs her shoulder. “Hey you”, He tells Rena. Rena turns around. “Huh! Now what” Rena says in her head. “I need you to come with me.” He demands. “Humph…..” rena turns around and ignores him and then says.”I hope it’s because you want to take me out on a date, but if it’s not, then buzz off you creep.” Rena tells him. Then Yuu grabs her wrist and pulls her up from the table. “I told you to come with me you brat, so you’ll do it, got it.” He yells at her. Rena glares at him for a moment then says, “Ya know, it isn’t right to treat a woman this way, do you have any respect? Oh wait! You probably don’t because you’re a worthless jerk who probably doesn’t care about others but yourself.” She tells him. “YOU darn WINCH, SHUT UP.” He yells. He then slaps and shoves her really hard in the face where she flew across the room to the floor. “Ahhhhhh” the customers scream. “Ughhh” Rena pulls herself up from the ground and wipes some blood dripping from her nose. “Well, you’re one of the first who were able to make one hit on me, I should give you credit for your hard work, now, LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT A REAL PUNCH REALLY IS.” She yells. She gets up from the ground and pulls off her coat and mask; she then puts up her hands karate style. “Are you ready?” She asks him. “Yeah, I’m ready.” He answers.  END OF CHAPTER 1.
