A fantastic adventure
When I was little, I always wanted to be that kid who got tangled up in some grand adventure. There didn't have to be a big reason for it, I just wanted to go. Wataru Mitani stumbled across Vision out of a similar curiosity, but his trials and travels will do more than give him some extra excitement in his life. It will show him the meanings to life he's searching for, and while answering those questions, he just might change his fate - the one thing that every Traveler desperately wishes for.
When 10-year-old Wataru's father leaves home and his mother is taken ill to hospital, he decides to change his fate by travelling through the magical door shown to him by his friend Mitsuru. In a land of magic and monsters, Wataru must summon all his courage and embark on a journey with several comrades to meet the Goddess of Destiny and change this "mistaken fate."

yea i have to agree the novel although big was really good and better than this adaption that i finish reading the novel in one day and it was 800 something pgs ^^ but i also like this too becuase it has different stuff and so it's not the same and that makes it interesting.

The story starts out feeling kind of 'heavy' and 'dark' as compared to other fantasy stories, but the reader gets drawn into the story as the main character makes some hard decisions about his own life and the lives of others. I ended up wanting to see Wataru succeed in his new adventure!
