I held my head up from Trevino’s neck that was protecting me from the stinging wind. I would just barely open my eyes. I noticed that all the trees on the ground where now just a small dark spot on the ground. A saw a few houses go by really fast. And then there was nothing but clear grass plains with the small grass blades blowing in perfect time with the wind. “HOW DOSE IT FEEL TO BE FLYING!?” the white shadow spoke to me. “IT FEELS WONDERFULL! STRANGE AND SCARY! BUT IT’S GREAT!!!!” I replied screaming at the top of my lungs. “I TOLD YOU THEY REALLY EXSIT!!” I looked down at the ground with a huge smile on my face. I couldn’t believe I was actually ridding a real live “Pegasus”. Who thought they’d actually exist in this day and age?

Chapter 2

As we landed on the side of the road after the very short but enjoying flying adventure we came to a stop and we mounted Trevino. I stood in front of Trevino and now I could see the beautiful giant shining white wings and he short golden horn. I never thought of Trevino being a magical hoarse. The white shadow tapped me on the shoulder and gave me a small white whistle with a piece of string attached to it at one end. “What’s this for?” I asked. “It’s your’s now, its Trevino’s magical calling whistle. When ever and where ever you are, if you in some kind of trouble and deed help all you have to do is blow on this whistle and Trevino will come to your defence.” The white shadow put the whistle in my right palm and closed it tightly. “Always have it with you and never let it fall into the wrong hands other wise you will lose Trevino for ever. Unless the bond between you and Trevino is truly loyal and unbreakable.

“Thanks for the advice, I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.” I said with a short chuckle at the end. “If you don’t believe me, try it yourself right here, right now. Blow it after you have walked a few miles away, she will come.” The white shadow sounded confident that Trevino would walk to me after I blew the whistle.

I could only just see Trevino’s giant white figure in the distance. I looked around turning my head side to side. I was never the one to believe in such magical things.

“Why am I doing this?” I thought in my head as I started to blow the whistle. It wasn’t a loud whistling noise like I expected it to be, but it was more rather a soft noise, one that didn’t hurt your ears. I saw in the distance the figures of Trevino and the strange white shadow wasn’t moving at all. I figured as much. I wouldn’t work. Then Trevino’s dark figure turned around and started to head towards me. I thought it was a meagre at first but then I saw the figure getting bigger and bigger. Eventually Trevino’s face was right in front of mine. “Wow! This thing really dose work!” I couldn’t believe it but it actually worked! “After all of this I still have three more questions for you. Who are you, what are you and where did you come from?”

“my name is Avalia and I’m a fair angel from the magical realm from this world." the white shadow held out one of its arms. I stood there silently not knowing what the shadow wanted from me. did it want the whistle back from me? but she just gave it to me and said i could have it. "Aren't you going to shake my hand?" "Oh, right." I jumped back into reality when the figure asked me to shake its hand. I was gazing into the distance at the sight of nothing just thinking about what the shadow wanted me to do. After we shook hands i could now see the shadows figure more clearly now and i could see two clear hazel blue eyes. Avelen was a girl. could tell that now because of her long dark wavy black hair that went down to her waist.

"so your a "she"?" " Yes I am, and I still haven't told you why I'm here yet either. do you want to know" why not? but can we walk while we talk, it's getting kind of dark and i still have to feed our cattle." "Alright then, let's go!" Avelen started walking a head of me. i only just realised now that she had two beautiful butterfly wings on her back. " you have wings now to? so can you fly as well?" Avelen turned around " I can fly a little bit these wings aren't big enough so I can fly." " how big do they have to be? do they have to have features like the ones on birds to be able to fly and not butterfly wings like yours?" Avelen nodded. "Yes they have to be really strong wings like those of the birds in this world, some wings that i have seen are really huge like Trevino's here and other wings I have seen are really small like mine. but as I grow older I will be able to fly." " I see then. do you have to be a certain age to get a flying lisece?" Avelen looked at me. " A flying licsence? what's that?"

"never mind, don't worry" " Oh! i've been meaning to ask you something, that's why I stopped you." " What's that?" I asked. " do you know where " VELINOE?" IS?"

"VELINOE? what place is that?" it sounded like a place from a child's fantasy book.

"Then you don't know where it is do you?" " no 'm afraid not sorry." " that's alright."

"What is Velinoe anyway?" " you mean you don't know about Velinoe??" " No"

" shame on you! you should know about it! everyone from the magical realm of this world knows about Velinoe!" Avelen seemed surprised that I didn't know about Velinoe. " Hello?

I' not from the magical realm!" " That's why! i forgot that you where mortal. what a very short boring life you must have. " Exceuse me?" " nothing don't worry about it. you didn't hear a thing." "Oh i heard something coming from your mouth"

Avelen shook her head. " no you didn't I already told you that" " any way now that i've told you my name it's time to tell you your name" " Alright then. my name is Leon." I remember that my mother told me that there was once a brave young worrier by the name Leon, he was smart and strong he even saved this very kingdom from certain doom from the evil "Hell king" from the underworld, the ruler of hell tried to gain complete control over the mystical kingdom in which you live in. This young brave boy was a powerful sorcerous and was the only one brave enough to stand up to the 'Hell King' out of the hole Kingdom, even the King himself was to frightened to come face to face with the Hell King. doing so the Hell King succeeded in conquering this land, fire begun to spread easily chocking the sky with smoke and killing the forrest and it's animals that it sheltered.

But then out of the blue, when all hoped seemed lost, a young man riding a beautiful white shining Pegasus and fort the Hell King but the only way he could do so was to use all of his magical energy and seal him away and send him a way back to where he came from, Hell. Doing so he won the Kings respects and came the net in line to be King because the king had no son so the young man named Leon became the successor to the throne.

Before Leon's time came to be king, he passed away due to lack of spiritual energy. The King was very worried about this and chose someone els from the family to be king for the next generation. 1000 years have passed since the day the Hell king was sealed away but word got out and roomers say that the seal isn't strong enough to hold the Hell King for so long and in time that seal will break and the Hell King will once again take revenge on the king and conquer this land once more.

This was a story that was told to me a long time ago when I was small. my mamma said that the day the seal broke was to come in the next week or so, saying that she sent me down here o earth to be safe but so far I would prefer to be strong and help fight the Hell King and protect my family but I have very little chance to survive it i where to go back home.

This boy said his name is "Leon" maybe it's the Leon from the story and has come back once again to help fight the Hell King. from the sounds of it, he probably doesn't even know he has magical powers within and doesn't know how to control them. Maybe if I can show him how to use them, He'll agree to help me save the kingdom. It's gotta work otherwise I'll have no home to return to.

"Say is something bugging you? you've been awfully quite now for a while. Is there something on your mind?" " huh!? Oh I'm alright, I was just thinking about home and my family wondering if there all right, that's all."

"Did something happen to them?"

"It's more like what's going to happen to them soon and I can't do anything about it."

"what's going to happen?" I asked. " The seal that locks away the Hell King will break soon and the Hell King will conquer my world. My mama sent me here to be safe but I want to fight the Hell King and save my home and family, just like the legendary hero "Leon" did a thousand years ago but I'm not that powerful." Leon?? That's my name though. "I see. so you live in the Forrest and paddocks here?" " i did but they cut down the trees and they started to burn of the area, so I have no where to go now. you said your name was "Leon, maybe your the successor to Leon and that's why Trevino chose you."

"Hey, if where the successor to this "Leon" guy, don't you think I would've Known about it by now."You do now. once yo enter the magical realm, I'm sure you'll be able to se those magical powers of yours that are inside you." "sorry Aveln but not today I still have to feed

the animals back at home. " Then after that will you be able to help me?"

I didn't know what to say, what about my job? if i don't show up tomorrow without telling my boss a good enough excuse with out lying, He will probably think I won't be showing up anymore. " ho long will thing last for?"

"The seal will break tonight at two minutes past Twelve tonight. It shouldn't take too long, you'll be back by tomorrow morning at he latest."

"Alright, I'll help you with the defeat of this "Hell king, although I'm not sure why." Avelen gave me a giant huge from behind, I almost lot balance and fell off. "Trevino! It's time to fly! so Let's go!" FLY TO OUR DESTINATION!" I grabbed on tight and Trevino took of the ground and we started to fly home.

CHAPTER 3

I saw my house go by but I didn't recognize it at first but then I did. I pulled the left reign to make Trevino to turn around and go back. We slowly turned around and gradually decanted. We safely landed on the ground inside the paddock. I heard a few banging sounds coming from the shed. Dad was clearing out some old hay stacks and making room for some new saddle equipment. " Your back son, you're a little late today, you better quickly hurry up and feed the cattle." Dad said quickly. " Sorry Dad something came up at work and the boss wanted me to stay behind awhile. don't worry I'll get the job done." "You better, before it gets dark. which is soon." He sounded a little angry about it. "I'll help if it's alright with you sir!" Avelen jumped down from Trevino's back and landed softly on the hard dirt ground. "And who is this, leon?" "I'm Leon's new work member i just started at the small supermarket yesterday and he invited me over today" Avelen said with a huge grin on her face. i wondered if she enjoyed doing this sort of thing, helping out. "Oh See, so your new here then? Well then since you offered to help you can start by moving that stack of hay from inside the shed and put in over by the fence over there." Avelen did as she was told, no hesitation what so ever. My dad snook up from behind and whispered in my ear " You sure a lucky thing, just make sure you don't go two timing her, alright? you know what women are like." Pops startled me and i replied back with a comment about two timing her. For starters, there was only men that worked at the super market except for one women who was definitely over fifty, there was no way in hell, that was ever gonna date an old hag like her, not to sound mean or anything like that. Pop's walked around the back of the shed as soon as that happened Avelen chanted some sort of spell and then I realized that the Hay stack that Pop's told her to move was glowing a light blue light and was floating in the middle of the air as though it was zero gravity. " Ho- How did you do that?"

"Did what?" Avelen asked me. " That spell or chant that move's that stack of Hay around!" "Oh, this spell? It's a beginner's spell, it's quit simple to learn if you have the right magic in you." Avelen moved the big stack of hay over to the fence and gently put it down. Just in time to. Pops came back with a large green bucket of water and a mop. He saw that the hay stack was already moved and almost dropped the bucket of water on the floor. " Leon? did you help her with that? Or is she really strong or what?!" Pops nudged me in the shoulder, it didn't hurt as much as it did back then. " I- I helped her out, it was too much for her to carry by her self so I helped her out" I couldn't say to him that she used a beginners spell to move it he wouldn't believe me if I did. " Your a good bloke Leon, now come and make your self more useful by coming with me to feed the cattle, in the mean time Avelen, was it not?" Avelen shyly nodded her head, blushing almost turning bright pink like a rose.

"Righty oh! you can start cleaning the shed floor, if you don't mind young lady"

"Oh no! i don't mind at all! as a matter of fact i enjoy cleaning work like this"

Avelen took the green bucket of water and the mop from Pops and started cleaning the floor, she started dancing and humming a tune that almost sounded familiar to me and yet i couldn't figure the song out. Me and Pops rode out to the paddocks on a old cart being pulled along by two brown horses. In the back of the old wooden cart was the cattle's food that we where going to get them. The sun hadn't completely gone down. The last few hour's of the day was still waiting for the night, moon and shining stars to come out and swop turns on watching over the earth so there was still time to feed all the animals on the farm.

we came to a wide open area where all the cows where all standing, all scattered about. We hopped out of the cart and unloaded the stack of Hay in the back and sorted it out on the ground and called the heard over for dinner time. All of them heard Pops call to them and slowly one by one they came over to us eagerly wanting something to eat other then the green grass on the paddock.

It was soon time for us to leave the cows and go back to the main house before it got too dark to see, we only had a couple of old torches to see with on the trip back. As i gazed up at the dark sky, I noticed the first star of the night appear as I was Sitting next to Pop's in the passenger seat on the way home. I made a silent wish in my mind something that I have Wished for a long time.

We arrived back at the shed where we found Avelen sound asleep on a Hay stack out side the CLEAN shed? All the different equipment that was once a pig sty on the shelves was all cleaned and sparkling clean. The trash was all sorted out and cleared, giving us more space, even the water tank at the back of the shed wasn't rusty any more but looked as though it was brand new. Everything that was all most falling off the hooks was neatly put back and the Hay was all removed from the floor. Did I mention the sparkly shining floor?

No wonder Avelen was sound asleep on the Hay stack. "Don't tell me Avelen did ALL of this in such a short a mount of time!?" Pops was really surprised, it was as though he had never ever seen this shed clean before.

Avelen couldn't had done this all by herself! Unless she used a spell to help her do all this cleaning. That had to be the answer. There was no there was no other possible solution to this.

I tiptoed over to where Avlen was sound asleep on the Hay stack I noticed that Trvinoe had come over to see her. I nudged her in the shoulder trying to wake her up but not trying scare her at the same time. "Aveln?, Avelen?" I whispered into her ear softly. she slowly turned over and gently opened her eyes. " Oh, Leon! It's you! Your back!" She sounded a little surprised but then she realized that she accidentally fell asleep with out realizing it. "I'm sorry! I fell asleep!"

"That's alright. Don't worry about it. Any way, I see that you went a little overboard with the cleaning?" I lent Avelen my arm to give her balance as she was standing up from where she was lying. " I suppose I do more then you asked me to do, but I couldn't stand seeing all the nasty cob webs and the mess on the floor not to mention all the perfectly good stuff about to break! So I did you a Favor" Pops walked around the table and gave her a really hard slap on the back with a extremely large smile on his face. "AND YOU DID AN EXCELLENT JOB MY FRIEND! WELL DONE! IT'S MY PLEASURE TO LET YOU STAY FOR DINNER!" Avelen looked at me. I nodded and gave her the thumbs up. " YAY! i get to stay for dinner!" Avelen sounded really excited like a small child receiving there first present on the very first birthday party.She deserved it after all that cleaning.

It was a roast pork and vegetables. Avelen was so surprised on how different the food was here, she almost seemed like she had no idea on how to eat eat it. I whispered to her saying to use a knife and fork that was put on the table on either side if the plate. I held the knife and fork in my hand and raised them a little to give her a hint on how to eat the roast pork. "OH RIGHT!" Avelen copied me. When a stabbed the pork with fork and cut the pork with the knife, she stabbed the pork and cut the pork with the knife.

"So How long Have you been here in town for, we don't usually get new comers to this small town." I'm looking for VElinoe, my home town."

Pops looked at her. " What are you lost or something?"

Looked at Avelen shaking my head and arms madly trying to tell her not to tell him about her magical world and magical powers. I couldn't talk properly because I had a larger piece of pork and veggies stuff in my mouth. Avelen looked at me, she was confused and couldn't figure out what i was trying to tell her, but then finally she got the message.

" I'm a Traveller. I came to this country last year and I've been getting a little bit home sick lately so i thought i better return home except i don't really know how to get back."

"I see then, well it just so happens that we've kept the old map of this country and you can have it if you need to find the way to the airport"

"The "AIRPORT?" "Don't tell me you've never heard an airport before?"

"Well where i come from it's a small island by the sea and it's too small to build a large airport as you say it is, instead we only have boat ports to go to the main island."

"I See, so you live on a small island. It just so happens that we've got a world map, but it's a little out of date and we've only got that map beside the other one where giving you. so your going to have to wait until Thursday for it because it takes at least one day to travel into the big city by horse and cart. So if you want until then you can stay if us if you haven't checked into the hotel yet."

"No I haven't checked in yet and are you sure it's alright if I can stay here for a while?" I was sure that Avelen didn't know the meaning of " checking in at the hotel" was But in a way I was glad that she could stay with us for a while, that way at least I had some way of knowing that she was safe from all the wild animals and the occasional wiedo prowling about.

" Yes it's although it won't be free of cause. It doesn't seem to me like you don't have any money on you so you can clean the house for us for payment for you to stay here. Is that fair enough?" Avelen nodded with joy and said yes with a very, very, very big smile on her face. I hadn't noticed it before but when ever she smiles it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

After dinner and showers I showed Avelen to the guest room upstairs. It had been a while since we had a guest stay at our house. For as long as I could remember it was only me and pop, just the two of us, trying to make it by and keeping this farm. This farm means everything to pop. he told me a story once a long time ago that one time when he was young and was full of energy, he and he's mates would come down here on their push bikes even though they knew they weren't allowed on the property. As they where ridding along the old river bank he noticed a black horse on the other side of the river galloping in the wind with a ridder on the back. They where in perfect timing together, Pops had never seen such a beautiful sight before, it was on the next property over to where they where. The ridder had long jet black hair with black trousers and a dark blue -short on. That was the very first time he saw my mum. but that was a very long time ago. after they met and got married, mum got sick and passed away, leaving me and pops behind. The doctors didn't have the right medicine to save her and was too expensive to send her to the hospital by helicopter in the big city. Every now and then Pop goes out to visit her at the grave site by the river side where they first met but apart from that, he doesn't mention her at all, I guess it's too painful to talk about now, after so many years have passed.

Avelen jumped on the bed making a soft patting sound. She turned around and hugged the white pillow tightly. she quickly held it back out. "PEWEH! WHAT A TERRIBLE SMELL! haven't you ever heard of doing the washing!?"

"Well we haven't had any guests for a long time so we haven't really bothered washing these sheets at all." " I see well then looks like a job for me to do tomorrow! WOW! what a cute little teddy bare you have!" I looked around." What teddy bare?" Avelen jumped down from the bed and walked over to the shelves that had all little kinds of little nick nacks and stuff. "This little Teddy-bare silly!"

She gently took it off the shelves making sure she didn't hit anything else and hugged. It had beautiful big pink ribbon tied in a big bow to the left side of it's neck. " It has lovely soft brown fur! and it's beautiful big black eyes! oh! it's so cute!

"oh that bare? that was my mothers favorite bare." I sat down on the bed.

"oh. I'm sorry isn't she hear anymore?"

I shook my head and said no. I told her that my mother had passed a way a long time ago, I don't really remember much about her so it didn't bother me as much.

Avelen started to cry after I finished my story. "I'm so sorry! I didn't realize! I just thought your mum wasn't home and just gone out for a while I guess I was wrong. I'm so sorry!" She hugged the bare even tighter now with her eyes poring out tears. I handed her an old but clean hankie and she blew hard on it and whipped her eyes dry. But after that even more tears came rushing out, it was like she had no control over them. every time she whipped her eyes dry, more and more tears came rushing out. I gave her a hug to try and comfort her but that only seemed to make it worse. After a while she settled down and she sat back up properly leaving a huge noticeable wet patch on my shoulder.

"Do you feel any better?" I asked Avelen feeling concerned for her. Avelen shook her head. " No I'm sorry I think I need to be alone for a while. excuse me."

She gently put the brown bare back on the shelf and walked out the door.

"Nice Job jerk! what a great choice of subject to talk to a strange magical girl you just met! now she'll probably never get over that story!" I through the pillow back to where it was supposed to go and walked out of the room back into mine, when a girl says she needs to be alone, she needs to bee alone until she comes back. Believe me I didn't want to make the situation even more worse.

It was getting late and pops had fallen asleep in front of the television with the newspaper in his hands and on his lap. I walked to the messy kitchen where dirty glasses and plates had been left on the bench after to nights dinner. I opened the fridge grabbed the milk and a clean glass from the cupboard. I walked back up stairs to my room with a glass of milk in my hand I walked passe Avelen's room on the way and noticed the door had been closed. I remembered that I left that door open when I left.

I quietly opened the door only to find Avelen soundly sleeping under the white sheets and blankets with her head resting up against the white pillow that I had put back from before. She was hugging that brown bare, she must like it I thought to my self.

I walked back out the door and shut the door quietly behind me "At least she found the place alright again, I wonder where she disappeared to?"

I sat down on my bed sipped from my cold glass of milk, put it beside my bed on a bedside table and started to read a magazine.

The next morning was bright and sunny and I was awoken by the vacuum cleaner. I was around six-thirty and Avalen was already starting to clean? Why use the Vacuum Cleaner and not magic? I thought about it for a while and figured it was because Pop must have been up and she didn't want to spoil her secret. I got up slowly , still half a sleep and took the empty glass of milk from last night with me to go and clean it up. I opened the door but it stopped half way. That's when i saw the vacuum cleaner out side my door. I knew it, it was Aveleen cleaning the house al ready.

"OH! GOOD MORNING SLEEPY HEAD!" She was trying to speak over the vacuum."GOOD MORNING! YOUR UP EARLY! WHY'S THAT?!" I yelled.

"WHAT WAS THAT! I'M SORRY! I DIDN'T HEAR YOU!" I knelt down and switched off the vacuum cleaner " I SAID! YOUR UP EARLY! WHY'S THAT!?"

I pretended to yell as though the vacuum had never been turned off.

"silly, you don't have to yell now, the mechanize been turned off now. I'm up so early because that means it can give me more time to do more things!"

"you really enjoy cleaning don't you?"

"Yes as a matter of fact I do like cleaning. It helps me relax more"

"Right. " I'll be down stairs if you need me"

"Wait!" Avelen grabbed me by the shoulder before I Walked down The stairs.

"what is it?"

"Could you, could you please turn it back on for me, I don't know how to."

"Alright, all you have to do is push this button here and it automatically turns on."

"It's like magic isn't it?" Avelen said as the vacuum began making that loud noise again.

"Sort of. any way. I'm going." Avelen waved to me as I was walking down the stairs.

" Morning dad"

"MORNING LEON" Pops said happily as he was chewing on some pancakes and ice cream.

"let me tell you, you sure did choose a good girlfriend to come over! she's a bloody good cook I can tell you that much!'

" GIRLFRIEND? What are you talking about? if your taking about Avelen being my girlfriend, then think again."
