Anime Recommendations

Are there any interesting anime shows that are in/just been released in the US? I don't mean those shows on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network, nor do I mean any older ones that used to air here. Something that might have been popular in Japan that's just starting to become popular here...A title and short description would due. Just a note: I'm not really into Meccha (other than Gundam Seed) and I like comedy (nothing too serious).
