Reviewing Art
I have over the past few weeks been asked over and over again to review the art of people posting to the Tokyopop website. For those of you who don't know who I am, well let me take a quick moment to inform you. My name is Steven Cummings and together with my wife Megumi I do the art for Tokyopop's hippest book to date, Pantheon High. Since I have been working in the industry for a while now I know a little bit about comic art in General, and making Manga in particular (since I learned the art of comicing while in college and grad school in Tokyo for about 4 years) I am happy to give advice and help those of you out there who aspire to comic greatness! If you would like to join the ranks of those who want a pro to review their art samples or simply want a little advice(I even know a little about the writing side of the business) simply feel free to ask! Balletprincess598, Thanks for the questions. I will try to answer them all. Glad to hear you are interested in Pantheon High. I hope you will pick up a copy someday. As to growing up in Japan, you have me confused with my wife I think. She grew up there, I just attended a lot of college and Grad school there. And to answer your second question, school for me wasn't hard. I was in normal classes with all the other Japanese students who don't actually study in college. It's more of a four year vacation at parental expense. Therefore I had to try hard to study. On to your writer question. The best way to go from a beginer to a pro is to write, write, write. Find some nice artists to colaborate with and make some comics. Then from there the only thing left to do is to get your stories, etc., in front of editors. I would suggest that you try going to any of the anime/manga/comic conventions in your area that have publisher representitives attending(usually editors) and pester them with your work. That's what I and just about everyone else in comics did to get in. Good Luck!!!

dear steven i have read a little about panthion high and i like it but i have a few questions what was it like growing up in japan?whats the schools like?and how can i go from a bigginer writer to a pro writer? these are my questions.also i have writen a few stories if you wish i could send you one if it is alright the title is"princess trishel:daughter of neptune and pluto"i shall tell you more about it later on,good bye
