Platinum Garden: There are 3 volumes released with more to come. This review will only cover the first volume. This manga can be described a romantic comedy, but it's a little different than you would be used too. Kazura Hana Enomoto finds out after her grandfather passed away that he has promised her to Mizuki Magahara due to the large debt he owed Magahara. Reluctantly she is sent off to live with him to pay off her grandfather's debt. To her despair she finds out that she wasn't sent to work off the debt but to become Mizuki's fiance. She is forced to stay due to the debt but slowly gets used to living with Mizuki and his distant relative, Kaito Inui. Hana decides that even though she is forced to stay she is determined to not be ordered around and to keep being herself. While she is there she begins to see the different sides to Mizuki and even finds out his and the Magahara's deepest secret. Mizuki is a person with a returned soul and he is capable of reviving the dead for a period of time, but for a huge price. But the main mystery to this manga is the real reason why Mizuki wants Hana to be his fiance when his family is against it and how he knew her and her grandfather from way back. For now Hana is stuck with Mizuki but won't be as boring as she thought it would be.

My opinion: This manga was a little bit different for me. I usually wouldn't have picked up this manga hadn't been for a friend of mine. This series was different than I expected it to be. It was an enjoyable read for me and it has gotten me interested in what may come next. I enjoy the characters a lot, the characters here are actually stable within their own personality so far. The most enjoyable character so far has been Mizuki's cousin Nanase Magahara, the balance between quirky and clever has made him an interesting and amusing read. This manga has an easy going feel to it, it doesn't really delve deep into any of the emotions nor does it try to play on any of the readers except maybe your humor. Its easy and enjoyable to read and though it might not be your favorite read it will still be enjoyable and will interest you. It has interested me enough to continue the series and look forward to the rest of the story.
