Chapter Fifty-Eight “You’ve failed in eliminating them,” Cynthia stated. “Yeah I know, please accept our sincerest apologies.” Matt slightly pleaded. “Well it doesn’t matter now since we succeeded in getting the girl.” Cynthia turned and vanished without another word. Matt helped Jaime off the ground and they walked to their car deep in the woods. Alice, Scenario, and Bryce had searched the whole area around the mansion but there was no trace of Amelia. Alice caught up to Alphonse and Pria, who had gone in search as well, and they explained that they had lost her scent. “What now?” Bryce questioned. Alice thought hard about their next move, on thing she did know was that Marcus needed be updated on their current situation. She walked through the back door, went up the stairs and finally found Marcus’s room. She rapidly knocked on his door until he opened it. He was tying on his robe as he opened the door. “What’s the matter?” he muttered. “They got away with Amelia,” she replied calmly. “What! You must be joking!” “This isn’t a joking matter, as I was saying some of his fighters got in and away with her.” “Didn’t you attempt stopping them?” “Well yeah, it just didn’t work out quite right,” Bryce added. Marcus stepped into the hallway, closing the door behind him, and leaned against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. “Well, what do we do now?” “I actually was thinking about that before, I believe that if we use Alphonse and Pria’s connection to Amelia, we could somehow find her,” implied Bryce. Marcus spoke, “Alice that might actually work.” She nodded, “We’d better try this out today then.” Marcus looked at Alice, “Today’s the day isn’t it?” “Yeah, I can just feel the disturbance in the air, so today is the day of the Angel’s awakening.” Chapter Fifty-Nine I felt so exhausted that my body wouldn’t even move. As I slowly began opening my eyes, this bright light flashed over them. It took me awhile to get my eyes adjusted to the lighting, but once I did I looked around, I immediately realized that I was strapped down to an operating table. I began to panic and so I began to frantically shake but the straps were on too tightly. “Help! Help me!” I screamed. I kept shaking and hoping desperately that I could free myself but after awhile caused the straps to get tighter and cut at my arms. I kept shouting and screaming as I slowly came to realize that I was all alone in the room. But that’s when I suddenly noticed a figure in a white coat come toward me with a needle with red liquid contents in it. “No, Please stop!” he came closer and yanked at my arm in order to inject whatever was in the injection needle. At first I felt nauseous, so I moved me face to the side and vomited for what seemed like hours. Soon after that, I immediately began to feel delirious and lightheaded, until I couldn’t help but close my eyes. When I opened my eyes again, I was in this small cement walled cellar. I felt that I was on top of a hard bed, which was more like a bench than bed. There was a small amount of light coming through the tiny window towards the top of the wall in front of me. I attempted to get up but I instantly regretted doing so because I felt sore throughout my whole body. I glanced down at my arm and saw the red marks and bruises from the straps. I slightly lifted my shirt and saw the same marks around my abdominals. I couldn’t stop asking, how did I gotten here? I slowly sat up cross-legged on the bed/bench and started to think if I could possibly find the answer to that. Alright, first I had gone to the kitchen to get a drink of water and then… I can’t seem to remember anything from then on. This was just great, but after thinking about it a bit I thought that I should test try my new powers, I mean it sounded like a good idea. I took a few deep breaths and cleared my mind. I began to see images flow across my mind, yet I couldn’t understand any of them. I soon got this feeling that I was going near something that was completely indescribable and as I neared it I suddenly was hit with this enormous pain as if someone were clutching my head. I held my head and cradled back and forth, attempting to push the feeling out, but nothing changed. The pain soon was too unbearable for me, so I lay on the bed scrunched into a ball, and tried hard not to cry but I could feel my eyes watering. And as I began to cry the bed began to tremble uncontrollable, “Stop!” I shouted, but it seemed the more pain I felt the more violently the bed shook. I kept hearing this scream, which I slowly realized was coming from me. I was so drained of energy that I just laid there in pain, until it finally started to diminish. I was breathing in huffs and puff. It was then that I decided to just stay still and avoid using my powers which most likely cause that agonizing pain to come back. Chapter Sixty “Chase, we have her,” Cynthia reported. Rodney and Ken were behind her on account that they had collaborated in retrieving Amelia. “Very well done,” Chase replied as he leaned back in his chair, “Where is she now?” “Dr.Lex said he needed blood samples and as of now, she should be in Chamber 20, Cellar 9,” answered Cynthia. Chase nodded, “Well then, I believe I will personally go to greet our honored guest.” He got up from his seat and stood for a moment, “Ken, go check on how Matt and Jaime are cooping,” Ken nodded and left, “Cynthia, you go and see what Dr.Lex has discovered from the results,” she immediately left. “And you,” he acknowledged Rodney, “Come with me.” Rodney didn’t understand why Chase had decided to chose him, but he knew better than to question him. They left Chase’s office and headed over to Sector 9. Chase motioned for the guards to open the doors to Chamber 20 and finally they reached Cellar 9. The guard on duty saluted Chase and Rodney, “Hello Sirs!” “Has anything occurred between the time Dr.Lex brought her and now?” Chase asked. “Sir, we heard some screams and loud bangs but Commander Thomas told us to leave it be.” “Well then, open the door.” The guard did as Chase commanded, and once it was opened he walked in. Rodney was about to follow until Chase signaled him to stay out. The guard closed the door once Chase was in. Rodney didn’t know what Chase was up to and he was jealous that he was alone with Amelia. Once Chase heard the door lock, he walked toward the curled up figure on the bed. She slightly began to her head, “Who are you?” she could barely make out. Chase knelt down, “My, aren’t you a beauty.” He began to stroke her hair and then her soft skinned cheek. He felt her stiffen under his touch and that amused him. She started to get her body up and she pushed away his hand. She cleared her throat and spoke again, “Tell me who you are.” Amelia was leaning on the wall for support. Chase smiled and leaned into her, which pushed her closer against the wall. “I’m Chase, love,” he whispered into her ear. Before Amelia could react he grabbed her wrists, moved in against her and kissed her. She attempted to push him off but the harder she tried, the more forcefully he pressed his lips against hers. He suddenly tasted the irony liquid taste in his mouth and that’s when he released her. He watched as tears slid down her face, “Don’t be so scared.” Chase wiped the blood off his lips with his finger and spread it across Amelia’s. She cringed as his action and he laugh. He quickly got up and walked to the door, knocked on it and it opened. Just before he left, he turned and said, “Later someone will come to get you. Try not to make a fuss or else you may get hurt, he flashed a smile and left.
