Chapter Sixty-One
I was leaning against the wall as tears slid down along my cheeks, and it made me feel rather pathetic. I could even still taste the blood on my mouth from when I bit Chase’s lip. I spat on my shirt and viciously wiped at my tongue and lips, I kept spitting on the ground but the taste just wouldn’t leave me.
Eventually I just gave up and curled up on the bed and attempted to rest a bit, but there was no use in trying, there was just too much on my mind and of course I was still shaken up from before. So I decided to sit back up and think about anything. I ended up wondering about how long I would be here since there was no possible way they could ever find me, I didn’t even know where I was.
A sudden breeze came through the room and I slightly shivered, I tightly wrapped my arms around me and sat there staring at the concrete floor.
I was suddenly taken back to reality when I heard the door opening. I was scared that it would be Chase again but instead a woman came in. She was pretty tall and had dark blond hair that came all the way along her back. All her facial structures seemed, almost, perfect. She had a smooth bridged nose, smooth light pale skin, dark blue eyes, high check bones, long neck, and a slender body.
She began to come towards me and with just her index finger, jerked my chin up. She moved my head from side to side and made no expressions, “I don’t see vat the Master sees in dis child,” she had a very think Russian accent, “Anyvay, let us go and prepare you.” The woman grabbed my arm and yanked me off the bed. She opened the door and flung me towards a man. “Bring her to Sector 5.” The man just stood there staring up at her, “Now imbecile!”
“Yes ma’am,” he retorted. The woman walked away and the next thing I know I’m having a blindfold covering my eyes and having my wrists and ankles being tied. I didn’t eve try getting away or screaming because I know that it would be a waste of energy since there was probably no one around to help me out. Suddenly I feel someone lifting me over their shoulder and start to walk.
I had probably fallen into daze when I was being untied and had my blindfold forcefully taken off. It took my eyes awhile to adjust to the lighting.
“Leave!” I noticed the Russian yelling at the men, who were probably the ones that got me here. As they left she turned towards me, “Now, vat to do with you?” she rubbed her chin with her fingers. She walked over to me and removed my elastic hair band and my hair fell down along my back and over my eyes, “You have think hair,” she stated. “Viviana, the dress!” she shouted and within seconds another young woman entered the room holding a long white silk dress. She glanced at the dress then me, “Yes, I believe this dress vill look incredible on you,” she then began to pick at my hair, “I know exactly vat to do!” Both women began to get me ready, but for what exactly?
Chapter Sixty-Two
“Have you ever done something like this before?” Scenario asked Marcus.
“No, but it seems like a rather simple spell,” he replied. Bryce had just finished making the circular ring with the white sand and placing the candles in their position. “It looks about ready, Alphonse and Pria you may now place yourselves at the center.” They did as Marcus said. “Now, you two,” he looked at Bryce and Scenario, “Please leave, once we’re done I’ll come and get you.” Bryce and Scenario nodded, walked out of the library and meet up with Alice in the living room. They had all been awake since one o’clock the previous day, and now it was nine and all they felt was exhaustion.
Scenario sat next to Alice, while Bryce sat across from them in the armchair. Almost instantly, Bryce fell asleep. Scenario watched Bryce sleeping and Alice noticed this.
“I’m starting to see how you treat Bryce as if he were your brother.”
He looked suspiciously at her, “What are you talking about?”
She rolled her eyes, “Like you haven’t realized how you’re always keeping an eye on him and protecting him in certain situations?” Scenario didn’t respond after that, since he felt that this chat about siblings would either upset or anger Alice.
It wasn’t that long ago that Alice had told him about her past. At one point, Alice had a younger sister, and when their parents where found murdered on the side of the street by their apartment, they immediately were taken to go live with their older brother. At that time, Alice was only five and her little sister was merely turning one. It was around Alice’s tenth birthday that their older brother got himself into deep problems. It seemed his girlfriend and he were taking many illegal drugs, and they had just started failing in paying most of their dealers off. Alice seemed to understand what this situation meant and she got her and her sister out of there before any harm came to either of them. Within that year they could not find a place to stay, so Alice made the decision to leave her sister in front of a foster home. She decided not to stay with her sister because she did not want to bring “bad luck” to her younger sister, and it was that day that she left her sister was when she lost her will to live her life to the fullest. From then on, for the next three years of Alice’s life, she lived a difficult life on the streets, but just at the point were she felt she no longer had a purpose in life she met two kids just as messed up as herself, Matt and Jaime. It didn’t take them long to construct a close friendship and become the closest thing to a family any of them ever had. They made sure to always have each others back and eventually they met him, as well as other kids who felt safe under Alice, Matt, and Jaime. Over time, they became to be know as the Demolition Crew and everyone knew them as the most fiendish and hazardous group of people in the area. No one dared to mess with them for two simple reasons, one) they had an outrageous number of members and two) Demolition Crew had the four most potent leaders. Eventually after the fire that burned down a third of their town, the crew split up but the four of them stayed together and quickly formed the merciless group of assassins, Gang Zero.
It was then, that on one particular day, Alice disappeared and when she returned her whole perspective of life somehow changed. Alice never told him what had occurred but what she did tell him was that she had made up her mind to leave the group in his hand because she was going to depart on a journey to find something, but by then he had formed great feeling for her. So he told her that he’d refuse to take control and instead he would follow her where ever she went. Matt quickly found out about this was outraged and when Jaime found out she began to act as if they never were part of her life, as if they never existed. Once they left, Alice came to tell him what her goal was.
On their two years travel, they ended up meeting the computer genius, Bryce. It wasn’t until Alice mentioned it now how he took care of Bryce, that he really thoroughly thought about it.
“Good kid…”Alice said.
She had intervened in his trail of thought, “What?”
“I was saying that Bryce is a good kid to have around, since he know what he’s doing, even though he can be a pain in my ass,” she repeated.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Alice and Scenario sat in silence until they heard footsteps behind them.
Scenario turned,” Marcus you finished…what, who’re you?” Alice turned to see who it was.
“Seth, and who are you?”
“We’re guests of your uncle,” Scenario replied.
“You are aware it’s nine in the morning?” Just then Marcus entered the room.
“Good morning Seth, well I see you’ve meet Alice and Scenario, and where is Bryce?”
“Over there,” Scenario pointed over at the arm chair.
“Seth, where’s you brother?” questioned Marcus.
“He just got out of the shower,” he responded.
“Can you please go to the dining room, I’ll meet you there in a moment.” Seth looked at him suspiciously but he listened.
“Both of you follow me.” Alice and Scenario followed Marcus back to the library. The room was completely dark except for the very dim candles. “What we have here is a tracking spell, since Alphonse and Pria are the closest to Amelia, and so I used them as the connecting link in the spell.”
“So, do we know where she is?” Scenario asked.
“Once the candles burn out, they will know her location,” Marcus explained.
“Marcus, do Seth and Felix know what’s going on, including today’s incident?” Alice muttered.
He sighed, “I’m planning on breaking it all down for them at breakfast.” Then came a rapid knocking at the door and Marcus went over to open it.
Felix’s head came in, “Amelia’s not in her room!”
Alice faced Marcus, “Perfect timing, don’t you think?”
