Chapter Sixty-Three

            Marcus had headed to the dining room to explain everything to his nephews, and Alice didn’t want to be there when he explained, so she decided to step out to the backyard for a smoke. Ever sine they had arrived at Marcus’ home, she had been having frequent flashbacks, and after her reunion to Matt and Jaime, the memories had been acting up even more. Alice took a long puff of her cigarette,

            The alleys of Rouge City were always beyond dark and you’d most likely get lost in their chaotic labyrinth layout if you didn’t live in the area. Alice lit her cigarette and pulled up her denim jacket collar. She didn’t really bother caring that smoking at fourteen was dangerous and unhealthy, she enjoyed the tingle she felt after every puff.

            “Hey, got one to spare?” Matt mischievously asked.

            “Yeah,” she took one out oh her pocket and handed it to him. He placed it in his mouth and she lit it for him. Matt quickly inhaled and held it, then slowly released it, he shook with excitement.

            “Love the feeling.”

            “Yeah, by the way, where’s Jay?”

            Matt shrugged, “Probably getting herself into a couple of fights, you know how she is, she has to get into at least five fights a day cause beating the pulp out of people brings her pleasure.” Alice smirked and he laughed, “We’re so f***ed up.” they both stood there the rest of the night talking.

She exhaled,

            “Spark, watch out, to your left!” Jaime shouted over the fight. Alice immediately turned and hit the guy in the jaw.

             “Owe you Spike!” she cried back.

            “f*** yeah you do.”

             Alice turned to Matt, “Matt, need a hand?”

            “Just let me deal with them!”

            “Okay.”

            “Spark, behind.” Alice turned and kicked the guy in the face.

            “How’s it going on your end Scen?”

            “Fine, how’s Spike?”

            “Jay is doing alright,” she replied.

            “Cool and Matt?”

            “Like you really need to ask,” Scenario chuckled.

            “Scen get down!” Jaime yelled out and Scenario ducked just as Matt busted the guy in the ribs and Scenario bashed his head against a wall. The Demolition Crew had the fight already won.

Alice took a puff of the cigarette and held the smoke in,

            “Cheers for Gang Zero, the best f***ing assassins ever!” Matt boasted and chugged his beer.

            Jaime laughed, “Cheers to lovely alcohol!” Scenario joined in with the laughter until he noticed Alice bent of working, “What’s wrong?”

            Alice looked up from the computer, “Looking for some good paying jobs, since at the rate we’re going blowing loads of cash on beer and cigarettes, were going to need more money.” She went back to working, until Jaime came over and hugged her.

            “Oh c’mon, just a little break boss,” she pleaded.

            Alice sighed, “Alright, but just for a bit.” She grabbed a Budweiser and began to drink.

            Alice blew out the smoke. She hated that she was still capable of holding all those memories in her mind, especially now that she had to face Matt and Jaime. Four years ago they were the most important thing to her but now she was strong enough to get passed all that and keeping her mind on rescuing Amelia.

           But besides all the old memories of the group, she kept thinking about the fire that engulfed all of downtown Rouge City. It was on that day that all the members of the Demolition Crew scattered, yet somehow Scenario, Matt, Jaime, and she all still found each other. I was during this tremendous outbreak of the fire that they all received their abilities.

            Alice ran as fast as she possibly could. Now, she wasn’t running because she was scared, no, Alice was never frightened. It was this feeling she had in her chest that was leading her to the heart of the fire. She felt this burning sensation as if all her internal organs were being set aflame. She then began to feel something burning at her throat and when she coughed, blood came pouring out. Alice didn’t pay much mind to this, so she just wiped the blood from her lips using the back of her hand. The burning sense was progressively spreading throughout her whole body. She felt as if someone where setting her on fire, and suddenly this surge of a heat wave was released from within my body, and I slowly began to feel the scratches against my arms and back.

            Alice would never forget that night since it was after that day, that all their lives would take a drastic change. Ever since her unexplainable occurrence she was able to use fire. And it was the day after this night, when they all reunited, that they all discovered they were all now gifted with new amazing abilities, and from that point on, they all agreed on forming Gang Zero.

            Alice threw down her cigarette once she finished it, and went back inside to see if Marcus had finished up telling Felix and Seth the truth.

                                                                                 Chapter Sixty-Four

            Seth and Felix were arguing with Marcus, they continually yelled at Marcus for not informing them immediately on the situation with Amelia. At that moment, Alice came walking in and went over to lean against the wall farthest away from the argument. Scenario saw her and so he walked over to her. When he was close enough she whispered, “So how’re things going?”

            “Uh, well let’s just say it went downhill and crashed.” Scenario made a downward slope movement with his hand.

            “That bad?” He nodded and Alice just sighed as she rested her head against the wall, with her eyes closed and pushed her hair away from her face.

  It was moments like this, when Alice slightly dropped her guard, that Scenario watched her. And it was also at these particular moments that he got furious with himself for being so attracted to her and not being able to do anything with his emotions. He quickly looked away as Alice opened her eyes.

            “We’d better let them settle this alone,” Alice pushed off from the wall and walked out, with Scenario following right behind her. They walked all the way back to the library and opened the door. Immediately they both noticed that all the candles were out, and so Scenario switched the lights on. They then turned to see Pria and Alphonse in the center of the circle.

  ‘We know where Amelia is,’ Alice and Scenario heard in their heads. Alice instinctively knew it was Alphonse, ‘We’d better be hurrying up because tonight is the night she awakens!’
