Chapter Sixty-Five Before I could even get my thoughts straight, the woman and her assistant(?) had me dressed in this long elegant silk gown, and as I got a glimpse of myself in the mirror, the first thing I thought was that I looked pretty decent. When the woman clapped her hand a bunch of her servants came in with various items. They all suddenly came rushing at me, putting make-up, accessories, and more stuff on me. One of them tightened the back of the dress, while another placed eggshell white heels on my feet. In the end my hair was placed into a tight bun and my bangs were super straight over my eye. Finally it seemed I was ready, and the servants left. “Ah, this is truly vone of my vorks of art,” the Russian bragged, “You look pervect for the ceremony,” she grinned at me and that sent a goose bumps all over me. Alice knew exactly where Amelia was once Alphonse began to describe what the location looked like. “The area’s called the Death Zone, I’ve been there a few times and it’s not that close to here. It’s twelve- thirty right now, I say we get ready quickly and head out as soon as possible,” she informed Bryce, who now was wide awake. “We’ll c’mon, it’s not as if we really thought that rescuing Amelia was going to be so easy, I mean there was bound to be problems the day of her awakening,” he implied. “You’re right, we did see this coming.” Alice got off the chair and added, “Now we just have to get Marcus and those kids on the same page and then we’re heading out to get Amelia back.” She quickly went for the library door and left, leaving Scenario and Bryce alone. “So is Alice really exaggerating or telling the truth about this ‘Death Zone’? I mean is it so difficult to get in?” Bryce asked. Scenario sighed, “We couldn’t have gotten a more difficult area to get her from. And its not because its heavily guarded, it’s because that area has many unexplainable things that happen there that we would rather like to avoid.” Bryce slightly grimaced, “Is it really that bad?” Scenario ran his hand across his face, “The first time I ever stepped foot in the place, all I could smell was the rotting smell of decaying bodies and blood everywhere. Chase has a thing for executing things that didn’t please him and doing experiments on human bodies and animals, in an attempt to modify and enhance them. Makes me disgusted with myself for ever working under him,” Scenario stared at the ground. “Well, now I’m really stoked to go,” Bryce said sarcastically. Chapter Sixty-Six Eventually when the preparations were done, I was allowed to be left alone in the room, but I wouldn’t even think of escaping because the door was locked and there were no windows, and the door was most highly guarded. The whole time I was there in the room I couldn’t seem to brush off this feeling that something horrible was going to happen and my mind didn’t seem to wander away from this feeling. What are they getting me ready for? As I was thinking about this I decided to sit in the chair by the lamp table and I placed my head on my hands just for a moment in order to relax, but then I heard a noise at the door. I looked towards it and I saw a middle-aged looking man standing in the doorway staring back at me, with his fierce clear greens eyes through his glasses. I watched as he came closer to me. Once he was standing in front of me, he knelt on one knee in order for our eyes to meet. “Miss, how are you feeling?” “How do you think I feel?” I replied. He smiled, “I’ll be taking that as an okay.” I didn’t respond to that. “Amelia I have come here to do my job and in order for me to do that, I need you to listen to the following directions.” I looked at him with a confused face, “Now, if you just relax an bit what I have to do won’t harm you a bit.” I instinctively began panic, “What are you going to do?” He begin to remove his glasses, “This really won’t hurt, just calm yourself.” He placed them in his lab coat pocket. I attempted getting up but his large hand came down upon my shoulder and pushed me back down, “I really don’t want to resort to force,” his grip tightened. I winced, “Alright now please look into my eyes.” I was trembling with fear but I was more frightened by what he would do if I chose to not listen. I slowly met with his eyes and the second they met I felt myself get drawn into a dream. I began to feel drowsy and as I got sleepier his emerald eyes grew darker, it seemed that under his gaze I had fallen into a deep slumber. Alice informed the others on what Alphonse and Pria discovered. They all seemed to handle the news better Alice thought. Marcus insisted on going, and Alice agreed that he would benefit to have him around, but when Seth and Felix started saying that they were also tagging along, Alice completely against it. Yet Marcus reassured her that having them present there would be vital, Alice didn’t understand what Marcus was getting at but she trusted him enough to take his word for that. They all left the dinning room and they rejoined with Scenario and Bryce back in the library. There, they discussed the plan. Alice had drawn out a quick layout of the Death Zone, and within a few minutes she had a whole place set. She instructed everyone and told them there jobs. Once everyone knew what they had to do, they began to go on ahead and prepare. By the time they were set and ready to go, it was already three o’clock. Alice had calculated that the approximate time need to get there would be a six to seven hour ride. When they were all crammed into Bryce’s van, they all seemed prepared for the unexpected.
