Nikko was a boy who lived in one of the many separated provinces of the Great Land that had no name. Although he didn't know it, the Great Land was split into several provinces but not like normal ones. each province looked like it lived in a different timezone than the others. one province was creating amazing technology and about to expand into space. one based its methods and armies on medeival ways. Nikko lived in a some what primitive province, where the roads were made of dirt, people dried their clothes on lines, and lived in modest houses. things were simple. of course it wasn't totally primitive: they had nice clothes and decent food which they didn't all have to grow themselves. it wasn't the biggest province, but Nikko liked it. no one was quite sure why the Great Land was so divided and the provinces isolated so. but it was.
    Nikko loved playing with his friends Kira, Azami and David all day. it was the kind of town where evryone lived close by and knew each other well.  they would mostly just hang out in a field nearby, go exploring in the woods, fish, play sports with the other kids and much more. Nikko didn't care what they did, as long as they were all together. he loved his friends a lot and was worried about the events that would take place in a couple of weeks. he was 16 and soon he would be 17, a "man". he worried that growing up would separate the friends if they wanted to do different things. (children were forbidden to leave their provinces unlike adults). he would discuss this problem many times with his freinds and, although they didn't show it as much, were worried too.
    one of Nikko's biggest obstacles was his father. Nikko's father wasn't exactly proud of his son. father would always talk about the helpful work he did as a child and said his son was wasting time goofing off when he should be preparing for the future. father would also brag about how strong and tough he was as a kid and say how weak his son was. Nikko beleieved it wasn't physical strength that made a man, but the strength of heart. this, his father said, was more proof of how weak Nikko was. although he didn't like wgat his father was saying, he had this strange desire to prove himwrong. he wnated to do something that would change the world.
    Luckily for Nikko, that day would come sooner than he thought.
